My son and I just bought this all original 1977 Mercury Marquis Brougham from the original owners son. It was kept in a garage all its life. It's got 19,000 miles on it. It still has the original tires and exhaust. It has the 460 4brl V-8. Lots of power.
Since I posted this We've done some paint work, mainly the fiberglass nose and repaired and painted the skirts. The original vinyl top has also been redyed the same navy blue color. Now it looks like new.

My Grandfather bought one of these new in 1977, sold it to my Mom in 1986, who sold it to me for $600 in 1989. I was just 19 years old, and drove it for 3 years. Mine only had a 400cid, and got lousy (15mpg) gas mileage. Funny, because it was too expensive to drive (20 years ago) to college, I sold it for $300. In hindsight though, it was the best car I have ever owned. Anyway, thank you for the video. This brought back some memories.

WOW, really nice car. The combination of white with blue interior is unique. The luxury era was the rule at that time. All I can say is congratulations, you have the king of the road, of all times.

I had a 78 4 door in the gorgeous brown color. My grandparents gave it to me. My 1st car. What an AWESOME car. It was like new. Had every option. I remember the left headlight door vacuum would leak overnight and it would be winking at me in the morning. hahaha. hen as soon as you start it the door went back down. LOVED that car!

No, they damn sure don't build them like that anymore! I had 2 Gran Torino Elites. Built like a tank, and just as comfortable as a Lincoln Town Car. Both racked up 280K miles before they gave up the ghost.

I had a green one with a white top back in 1994. When the engine went bad I had to get rid of it but till this day, it still remains my favorite car. I would love to get my hands on one now. The engine had a lot of power and it ran smooth as a baby's ass...SWEET CAR.

LOL what were they building in Europe at the time in 1977 for daily drivers? American sedans owned everyone back in the day.

@Mrphatbastard1 Thank you very much. I dropped the hammer with it today on 95 for a little bit. The old cars need to stretch their legs and get some excercise sometimes. LOL.

Too bad about the engine. Did it have the 400 or the 460? Either way they are both good engines. I am suprised it died. How many miles did it have?
