In this episode I install the rear loom after repairing the chopped wires and an unexpectedly early package arrival means I swap cleaning the engine for fitting the tank!

Complimenti per la bella officina meccanica molto completa. Anche io ho qualcosa del genere, più piccola, ma la passione è la stessa. Translation: Congratulations for the beautiful and very complete mechanical workshop. I also have something like that, smaller, but the passion is the same.

I am currently restoring my 1975 US Specs Rubber Nose "Golden Jubilee" MGB roadster, your posts have been so helpful, many thanks; and keep up the good work.

Very much enjoying the videos. Nice presentational style, well done. Just bought a '73 GT, chrome bumper and trying to learn all there is to know. Thanks for the information. One tip, when you raise the car, please speed up the video ..... there was time to make a cup of tea whilst waiting for it to get off the ground ! Steve Charles, Abu Dhabi

Very impressive for your first furtle into videoing the process, looks like you’ve picked a pretty good example, if I might, I would recommend before you go much further you should take the sills apart in case there has been improper repairs on the inner parts, I’ve been working on my 1969 roadster for a few years on and off and, like you, have more time to crack on with it and produce a few videos along the way interlaced with montages of photos of two years work, I will follow your rebuild and nearly professional KZbin posts with great interest, meanwhile I’ve just taken delivery of new three part sills for both sides, time to do some work, good luck, Steve.

I am very nearly in the same boat as you. I recently bought a 1968 MGB rolling shell and a 1972 parts car that I am going to combine into one. I think the same person painted both of our cars, I have the same drips and runs as you! I envy your garage space, I'm working outside so my first priority was to get the shell weathertight. I've installed all of the lights and a new top from Rimmer bros.and am working on filling all of the other holes in the body where bits have been removed. It looks like you've got the vast majority of the parts so you should be in good shape. I've previously owned 2 MGBs and 2 Spitfires, but this is the first MG that I've had to basically rebuild/reassemble from scratch. I'm looking forward to following your progress from the US.

As far as the paintwork, I'd first try flatting it down and buffing it back particularly if its single stage.

Hi John and thanks for the note. The paintwork was truly awful and as I write this, the car is in the paint shop. I hope it'll be out in the next couple of weeks and then the films will start again. Thanks for watching.

You talked about removing the engine and gearbox in the last video so why did you jack up and install the mounts the way you did. Why didn't you use a few of the longer bolts to 'pull' the tank up flush then replace them one by one with the correct bolts. Sorry to sound negative but you seem to be cutting corners here and there when you could be making a better restoration job with little extra work, just seems a shame....
