I was only 7 years old and lived in Jackson heights Queens. I was terrified and so was my mom. We spent that night during the blackout sitting by the window of our six story apartment, talking about the son of Sam and listening to 1010 wins. You give us 22 minutes we'll give you the world. And no I have not lost my accent and I've been in Florida for 12 years.

Greetings from Kentucky I was 14 at the time and we were living in Queens watch the testimony of David Berkowitz it's life-changing this man is a completely different person he deserves a chance and he did not act alone by the way it's all came out 20 years later he was part of an occult many other people did these killings it wasn't all David this is a shame this all had to happen he was a fine-looking man he still is

@coffeeinthemorning My Grandfather sounded like Archie Bunker. My uncle sounded like meathead. They were from Brooklyn. My mother strangely has no accent at all. She moved to Pittsburgh at 15yrs old. That accent reminds me of my childhood. Aunts and uncles talking like that. Its almost soothing. Because those ppl are gone now.

Today I discovered that when I first watched this video a few years ago, I never realised the kid in the scene at 48:40 with the white vest and arm around the girl ("I want the red light to be on") was called Billy Bright... his life took a dark turn and ended up as part of a murderous mafia crew, later got killed in jail himself. The main guy in the crew was notorious for sadistic killings, even worse than Berkowitz!

Spike Lee, who directed his 1999 film of the same name, got it from this. PS to anyone who sees that, its not actually about the case directly. It's about a circle of friends in the Bronx, and how their lives are affected and torn apart over the fear of the killer. Pretty good, if you know what to expect.

I'm from Manchester in the UK and us and Liverpool have defined regional accents too. Both our accents derive from Irish and i can hear it also in the New York accent. You don't seem to hear that NY accent these days? Like the Borough rivalry too. Brooklyn won't stand for it like Queens and the Bronx have? The Italian American lads in Brooklyn would of stripped him(them?) to the carcass if they caught him (them). Love New York its my second favourite city after my hometown Manchester of course. This video must be before the Blackout, because nobody is mentioning it. I'd say this video was made around the start of the summer 1977, which the Blackout was around mid July 1977. Just guessing. Plus Berkowitz was caught on August 10 of that year.

Why are these people giving their names and what borough they live in? I remember the summer of '77, Elvis died and Berkowitz arrested. Nice to see a young Carl Dennarro, one of the survivors. Buy his book!

1977 was brutal! Son of Sam, The Blackout, Rodney Alcala, Ted Bundy escaping left and right, Richard Ramirez being groomed into a sadist. Gacy was getting away with "clown" stuff. The Hillside Strangler's on a roll, and many more! 😳 Wow my birth year was supposed to be peaceful and special..😒

@@QueenAlexis556 Yeah I'm pretty sure a lot of ppl do think the same way when 1977 comes to mind..but again Elvis mixed with Animals! Personally I wouldn't associate him which such group in that type of discussion. "The King" don't deserve that.😏 But I definitely see your point, and you didn't say anything wrong. I was just giving my opinion. His death was major that year. It overshadowed many..

Everyone who claimed to have seen Berkowitz said he didn't have dark hair. Some even said he had light hair.. But his hair looks about as dark as it gets, sort of being black. Kinda strange that so many people would have gotten that wrong.
