"Its one thing the US committed bloody wars and massacres in its goal of manifest destiny for the US." one of the main reason of manifest destiny was religion and hatred towards what Americans at the time refer to as godless heathens or native americans, i mean christians at the time used the bibble to justify the slaughter of native americans and just like when they justify slavery. Breathtaking clarity. His command of the facts is legendary. For those new to Chomsky, you might stop at after every couple of sentences and say to yourself, "Wait, that's not what I heard or was taught", and then when you get the official documents and check, you see that he is correct. Then comes that disturbing moment when you get a glimpse of how distorted, and sometimes outright false, the dominant narrative can be. And then comes a very difficult choice: when you test the waters by speaking up on these types of issues, you open yourself up to torrents of abuse, hysteria, and labeling. But when sufficient numbers of people keep asking the right questions, protesting, and refusing to back down, things can change. This has happened before many times, and it will happen again.

I comment on these videos in order to get people talking and thinking about what I judge to be important issues. And I'm okay with you insulting me; it doesn't add much to the discussion, however. I would be happy to. Which claim of his would you like documentation for?
@tofinoguy7 жыл бұрын
There is overwhelming evidence to that effect. Going only back to 1818, John Adams, Founding Father and second President of the United States, wrote, "I really wish the Jews again in Judea an independent nation...". The full reference is: Kark, Ruth (1994). American Consuls in the Holy Land, 1832-1914. Wayne State University Press. p. 23. But there are hundreds of such references from all across academia and politics. You can find them just as easily as I can. So, are there any other claims you need help establishing?
@tofinoguy7 жыл бұрын
You've changed the subject. Let's get back to it: one of the main reasons that there is such fervent support for Israel in the Unites States is because of the strong zionist streak in Protestantism. That was Chomsky's claim, which you challenged, and which I answered. So, what other claims would you like documented?
@tofinoguy7 жыл бұрын
I care, because I am morally responsible for what I do and what I can do - not what other people do. Therefore, if what I write might influence somebody to think about things in a new way, then I think that's a good thing. If I am ever in the mood to simply waste time or have a laugh, I'll watch a cooking video or a fail video. But what we are talking about is a serious topic and, in my view, the public has been fed a diet of propaganda. So when Chomsky challenges the propaganda, he backs up what he says with an impressive collection of facts - all in the public record and not in dispute.

They are not and never have been. Once that connection is erroneously made in the public mind - Jewish and non Jewish - exposure of ultra-Zionism and its extremists can be protected and censored by claiming that such criticism is by.definition always an attack on all Jewish people. From this the 'anti-Semitism' industry was born in which critics and ·exposers of ultra-Zionism are targeted and often silenced in the name of protecting Jewish people from 'racist bigots' and 'Nazis' when it's really all about protecting the ultra-Zionist elite from legitimate investigation. Chomsky himself commented about that. If a non-Jew criticizes Israel, he's labelled antisemitic. If a Jew criticizes Israel, he's labelled a self-hating Jew. That covers 100% of possible criticism towards Israel.
@yechielkimchi60412 жыл бұрын
You're both wrong. I live in Israel, and I also criticize Israel, on many occasions, its government, and sometimes the general public. But unlike too many critiques from all around the world - by too many Jews and non-Jews alike - I try my best to base my critique on facts and true context. Chomsky is one of the greatest manipulators (it's a compliment :-) when it comes to criticizing Israel: He gives you partial true facts, seasoned with some not so easy to catch lies, and in most of the cases he distorts the context. I cannot tell if such modus operandi - Chomsky's and others - stems from antisemitism (attitude) or plain hypocrisy (character), but it doesn't serve anything, except hurting the Jews and Israel. Here is a simple example: When it comes to fighting terror and terrorists, Israel is criticized for killing civilians (and children are on the top of the list) - even those who accept that it is not on purpose claim that it is out of proportion and illegal by international law. Here is the international law, Geneva Convention (IV): "Art. 28. The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations." ihl-databases.icrc.org/applic/ihl/ihl.nsf/WebART/380-600033 Note that it doesn't say "don't hide military targets behind civilians" because those who are ready to do that will not obey international law anyway. It just says "If you hide behind civilians, it won't help you". In addition, "Art.29: The Party to the conflict in whose hands protected persons may be, is responsible for the treatment accorded to them by its agents, irrespective of any individual responsibility which may be incurred." ihl-databases.icrc.org/applic/ihl/ihl.nsf/WebART/380-600034 It says, that if you plan a military operation from an area with civilians, you at least have to build shelters for them. But, as we know, Hamas builds military tunnels under hospitals, schools, etc. for his fighters - not for protecting civilians. The rest - go and learn (start by Google: Israel fights Terror. You may want to search for my name on the results) Yechiel Kimchi

He is as stupid as you are. Israel is the strong but it doesn't mean it is the wrong. It is actually the right. Zionism at it's basis is a center-left secular national movement. While it's adversaries are religious and nationalist right and left fanatics and extremists - a mixture of - Nazists. Fascists and stalinist Communists. Their supporters in the west are actually modern anti-semites - that is anti-zionists. And it doesn't matter whether they are Jews or not. The useful idiots, who think they are supporting the victims, that are practically violent perpetrators of crimes against innocent people that just want to live in peace and let it to others. Left idiots back bastards who wage aggressive continuous attempts to perform genocide and kill, hurt, harm as many people as they can. Extreme leftist fools support these criminals because they think weak means right. As strong means wrong. Nazis very like Arabs also thought that they are victims and Jews are to blame and to be punished. The so called Mufti of Jerusalem and Hitler were allies on these grounds. Arabs' violence has nothing to do with Israel, they've been murdering one another for hundreds of years. It is the result of more than a thousand year oppression by their rulers but as Jews started escaping from pogroms in Europe, Arabs that many of them came from neighboring territories after the Jews, found great justification why they have a right to do the same - murder Jews and to consider themselves heroes while perpetrating heinous crimes against men, women, children and elderly, just to get rid of their own inner personal problems coming of their culture of violence and despotism.

Israel is not breaking international law, there isnt an international law. if there was, the UN would punish Israel for the crimes it commits. Israel is above international law and can only be stopped by an attack from foreign powers. Chomsky is against this attack and punishment because he is a Zionist. He is just playing a heard of sheeple called leftist. Here is the reality. The good guys won ww2, they installed Israel after redrawing borders. Palestinians lost ww2. Palestinians still fight a lost war. With every attack the Palestinians perpetuate on the winners of ww2, the more land the Palestinians lose. The Palestinians would do better to surrender and exist next door to Israel in peace, but they wont do that. It's very important to understand the ottoman empire failed and that was the protection Palestinians had. We can see israel growing and the Palestinians losing. Israel will be under constant attack and that probably pleases Israel because Israel will be very happy to take more land and kill more enemies. Chomsky knows this, he is no fool. He is just playing fools and making money off of then.... like a good Zionist does. Look, if you're mad the good guys won ww2, then that sucks. Maybe Germany can go enforce that international UN law chomsky keeps talking about

So the reality exist first and foremost, if Palestinians attack Israel, Israel will win and grab More land. If the UN decided to take military action actions Israel to stop it from the onslaught, then Israel will be stopped. But any country that attacks Israel will meet the fury of Israel. if the US decided not to veto votes of the UN, then punishment would have to be levied. I always liked his favorite quote from Walter Lippman, "the bewildered herd"... "The specialized class, the responsible men, carry out the executive function, which means they do the thinking and planning and understand the common interests. Then, there is the bewildered herd,..." Chomsky mocks it, but then, if anyone escapes from marxist leftist university and experiences the real world, they will understand over time why this is the case. Consider Jordan Petersons discussion of IQ, thats one reason why "the responsible men" are in control. Because if retarded people are in charge, theyll ruin everything...they may be so retarded they dont even realize theyre ruining it. Consider errors, mistakes and misfortune. There could be a genius, charismatic, a leader of people, a great and humanitarian person, they become a quadriplegic in an accident...cant even shave themselves to toilet themselves, such a person wont govern the country. We could go on like this...the world isnt an equal distribution of talents and successes for a variety of reasons.
