Once again, I am in shock at HOW WELL you guys managed to characterize the marauders, but the way you wrote Peter is what really makes this heartwrenching. The way he feels like he's being distanced from the other three, the way he feels like maybe they don't like him as much anymore, the way that he's scared of the war and just doesn't want anyone to die, and the way mattias just makes him seem so innocent, it's so sad. Before I saw your channel I used to hate Peter, but I really am seeing him in a whole new light. Sorry that this comment was so long, I just felt like ranting at how amazing this was.

This is honestly the most beautiful thing I've seen The way you captured the fear and helplessness the characters all felt while dealing with it in their different ways was incredible (eg. Sirius trying to ignore his fear, James being strong since he's the leader and Head Boy, but eventually broke down, etc) The way each character felt about the war and their abilities to fight for Dumbledore, and all their conversations and arguments over what they thought they should all do in the war The things that got me most were the characterisation of Peter, Regulus, and James. Peter's feeling so scared and alone, because all his friends want to go fight and he doesn't think rushing in to fight is a good idea. Regulus knows what he's doing, but he does it because his friends and family all influence him, but he's also conflicted and upset because Sirius was kicked out (also the conversation where Regulus sticks up for the house elves is such a good scene). I was on the verge of crying for the past half hour but when James came in at the end and started talking about how fucking terrified he is, I started crying. Chris did an absolutely incredible acting in that scene in particular (everyone else as well, of course)

Oh damn I got chills at 16:12 17:14 oh noooooo Okay so I finished watching and have a lot of Feelings about this. I'm gonna try and articulate them gimme a sec: . Barty talking about his relationship with Winky makes me really sad for reasons I can't quite put into words. Maybe it's because I always had a soft spot for Winky when reading the books. In another alternate universe, maybe Regulus set up SPEW instead of joining the death eaters..... . The beautiful and heartbreaking contrast in the scene between Alice and Mary's light-hearted conversation, Sirius's silent brooding, James and Lily going to see the headmaster which nobody is talking about but everyone probably can guess why they're there, and Peter trying to eat a snack and pretend that none of it is happening and everything is okay again . Everyone's acting is really good (It must be a lot harder to act in English when you're used to Swedish being your first language) but hot damn, I got a lump in my throat when James reappeared, crying, at the end . The only reason I didn't turn into an ugly sobbing mess is because I'm wearing headphones in the same room as my parents and I didn't want them to ask me what's wrong and interrupt my viewing . Having now read Casting Moonshadows, I can now appreciate where you put in tiny references, like the button nipples. That made me smile amid the dark tone of the film. . I'm literally seventeen right now and I can't imagine being directly involved in fighting a war right now, especially not as a pawn of someone like Dumbledore . The person I relate to most in this situation is Pete, because I just hate the idea of losing anyone I love and want to get as far away from any kind of conflict as possible (my enneagram type is 9 - the peacemaker) . But I know what happened to him and what part he turned out to play in the war and I just feel very sad and mixed up about it . I just.....Damn. This entire film hit me like a bludger [Sorry for the long comment, I have a lot to say sometimes]

Rewatching late at night (no parents in the room to hear me cry lmao) I just feel so bad for Peter. He's very subtly being downtrodden by the other marauders: hair hexed to look like James's to distract Lockhart, bag switched to avoid Sirius's dungbomb. Even the teasing about maybe dating Millicent Bagnold, and the joking about their "monthly adventures" go on for far too long even though Peter is visibly uncomfortable. His friends are also constantly standing up for him against the Slytherins and asking if he is okay when they are right there. He probably needs it and that's what friends do, but it feeds directly into the Slytherins' taunts about how weak he is and can't stand up for himself. Amazing writing, Chris! I'm gonna cry again, don't mind me.....

i love this. i love how we get to see Sirius' sensetive and weak side and how he kind of still cares about his brother. this has really cheered me up which is what i love about this channel. i love how Sirius and James are around each other and how you portray all of the charcters esspesially Peter as it makes his betrayal hurt less and i'm acctually starting to like his charter a lot. i love how Sara and Robin make Remus and sirius relationship seem so real and it's amazing. i belive that the slytherins blackmailed peter in to joining voldermort but hey that is my theory. i like how the thing that hurts sirius the most is someone pointing out he has no family when he still cares for his brother and that mabey he put up with his parents just to protect him. either way you were all absolutly amazing as always and i can't wait for next weeks video

I found myself thinking "you can really see why Sirius thinks that Peper would be the better person to keep the secret, or at least where it starts" before i remembered that this isn't technically canon (practically it totally is!) I just love every bit of this story and wow i'm so in awe of you all doing it! Oh my gods. This was incredible. I waited to watch it until I was back to being super immersed in Harry Potter again, and man was it worth it. You guys are my favourite portrayals of the Marauders era characters. You realistically show the fear and hopelessness that I imagine comes from graduating school only to enter a war, and unlike some things I've seen, do not bash Peter before he has even done anything. The tragedy of Peter's betrayal comes from the fact they were so so close, James and Lily trusted him to be their Secret Keeper, for Merlin's sake! This is AMAZING!! The fact that you can incorporate great humour in a skit that covers such a deep part of the story is fantastic. And you can clearly see the growing distance between wormtail and the other marauders, most people just cut him out completely but I love the fact that you incorporate him in the story as well so that we can see him slowly drifting away from his friends. You guys are amazing actors and your skits are always super creative and unique. Like the conversation between Lily, Alice and Mary is something you wouldn’t necessarily think of to put in a skit about the beginning of the war and stuff, but the fact that you DID think of putting it in proves my point that you guys are absolutely amazing! Holy fuck. I'll say it a thousand times. Mattias's Peter is the best Pete of them all. He isn't just some villain, he's human, he's real, and all of his concerns are valid and relatable. Same thing with Regulus, but I loved Sirius's line about being the most scared that Regulus knows what he's doing. I think it's important to humanize these characters but not to overlook the evil that they allowed to flourish through their actions. I think this shows that even actions that are passive are still choices with consequences. I also loved Sirius's line "I was afraid to be scared so I got angry." It's something that feels very real to me as an American citizen under our current regime. I didn't have the words for it before, but the temptation to let anger rule instead of recognizing fear and vulnerability is very real. The way you interspersed the tense talk of war with the playful pranks and school crushes was almost heartwrenching. This entire performance is an amazing portrayal of children who have to grow up too fast and make decisions that no one should ever have to make, but it very firmly emphasizes the fact that they are children throughout the entire thing. Thank you for this touching piece of art.

This was so emotionel for me just thinking about the fact that, in only a few years, they're all gonna be dead. All war heroes, who fought their own battles brilliantly, until the very end. Maybe not you, Peter *cough* *cough*. I really like this interpretation of Peter, though. It shows who he is and all his doubts very well. A brilliant video, I literally cried at the end. Thank you!

Watching the interactions between Sirius and James just broke my heart. It made me cry when I remembered that Sirius not only lost his best friend but his brother. He lost the only person other than Lupin and Lily who was there for him. He lost the person who could cheer him up quickly. He lost his only family. And then, he was framed for their murder and lost his best friend's son. He lost his godson. He then lost his life. People don't realize how much some of the Harry Potter characters lost. The Weasleys lost a family member, Lilly and James lost their life, Harry lost his friends and family, and Dumbledore lost his best friend. Many others lost people important to them as well, but two characters that get so much hate are Draco and Severus. Draco was forced into a death eater by his parents, and he only stayed for his mother, not wanting to lose her. Severus also lost a lot. He lost his best friend, he was abused, he lived in the same dorm as many Jr. Death Eaters, he lost his first and last love, and he also lost his life. I hope this changed things from some people, and I am also sorry for making you all read this much (if you read it). If you did read all of this, please leave a reply!

I really love the way you characterize Peter. Everyone always hates him just because he’s the “bad guy”, but we don’t really know what he was feeling or his side of the story at all. I’m a sucker for a Peter with a good, heart wrenching backstory.

ROBIN. your acting here is SO good. this nearly brought me to tears, jesus. this is so difficult and tense and heartbreaking and feels so real. you characterize everyone so well, all the writing and acting is phenomenal. but it's Sirius's angst that really gets to me in this one. especially when he picks the fight with Reg, and then later when James comes back - "what do we do when that day comes?" "it won't - we'll get through it." OUCH. i adore this.
