I'm glad someone other than me remembers this song. Great theme song. I was cleaning out my closet and found this 45 rpm record that I bought back in 1977. The other side was the instrumental version. I can't believe how many people actually think that the OKAY Blue Jays theme was the only theme song they had. This song brings back great memories for me as an original Blue Jays fan as well. I was debating putting this 45 up for sale but I think I will keep it.

Wasn't some kind of instrumental version of this the opening theme for the Cheek/Wynne radio broadcasts?

Hi Everyone, if you're truly interested in the history here...my father wrote this song...his name is Michael Lococo, from Niagara Falls, he's a dentist, when he wrote it and played it it was a lot 'different' (better/cooler) than the Paul's People version that you're hearing here....no idea how it ended up like this by my father contests that he was 'forced into it'. Funny story that in 1977 at Exhibition stadium me and my brothers had to sell the 45s to the fans - mostly my brothers as I'm the youngest but I still remember the look on their faces....I can't imagine a fan walking around with a 45 now a days... He also wrote an album called Lively Country performed by Stu Fargo.....

Hi everyone, sorry I didn't know how to post a public comment...I usually stay quiet (!) If you're truly interested in the history here...my father wrote this song...his name is Michael Lococo, from Niagara Falls, he's a dentist, when he wrote it and played it it was a lot 'different' (better/cooler) than the Paul's People version that you're hearing here....no idea how it ended up like this by my father contests that he was 'forced into it'. Funny story that in 1977 at Exhibition stadium me and my brothers had to sell the 45s to the fans - mostly my brothers as I'm the youngest but I still remember the look on their faces when they had to go sell them....I think $5....I can't imagine a fan walking around with a 45 now a days... He also wrote an album called Lively Country performed by Stu Fargo.....if you really dig the sound...I think I know all the lyrics too if anyone is interested...

I have honestly been looking around for this song for the past 20 years. My eyes popped out when I saw your posting. Thanks a million - this takes me right back to '77 even before the team took to the field for the first time, but were in the midst of their heavy marketing campaign. wow.

Wow I can't believe someone posted this. I occasionally checked on KZbin as you can often find really obscure stuff from your childhood but until now nobody had posted it. With today's announcment that Tom Cheek is finally being added to the Baseball HOF in Cooperstown, I thought I would check to see one more time. I can remember listening to Tom and Early Winn on the old Hewpex Sport Network and this song alway opened the radio broadcasts. Thanks again for posting!

I was 4 years old when the Blue Jays made their debut in '77, so I must've been too young to remember this theme. How many seasons was this groovy tune played for? because truth be told, I thought OK Blue Jays was the original theme too. I'll say this though, I like this song too

Sounds a lot like TSOP, a song written about a city whose baseball team got beat by the Blue Jays in the World Series a few years after this.

This inspired Doug Ault to have a magnificent April in 1977. Then he got tired of it and the season went to hell

The first game in Blue Jay's history probably confirmed the beliefs of many Americans that all it does is snow in Canada 365 days a year. LMAO!

the Blue Jays are better than the other expasion team that year the Mariners. In 92 Blue Jays won WS the Mariners had the worst record in baseball.
