1978 Ford Bronco Frond Bumper Refresh & Polish

I picked up another front bumper for the 78 Bronco, it's not in great condition, but will do just fine after I clean it up, polish with Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish, then paint the inside with Tremclad semi-gloss black paint.

It came out great Alvin and I like the heating tool you used. I've not seen that before.

Thanks Matt, I really like the induction heater, much safer than a torch. I does have its limitations, works very well on nuts 3/4" down, its not the best on bolt head ends, like manifold bolts...but works really well on nuts. Well worth the money.

Hi George, The price was right for the bumper, and will need a little straightening to get the wave out of it...but will do just fine for now. I think I'm going to take those lights off, I'm not loving them. Lol

Came out shining like a new penny. If you ever see Turtle Wax Chrome Polish, give it a shot. I've had 40+ years of good success with that bringing back chrome. Just trying to help, not faulting your results at all. The bench looks good too! Thanks for taking us along ~ Chuck.

In my video, I started out with Turtle Wax Chrome Polish, but my bottle of it had dried out, so I went with the Mothers polish, but Turtle Wax Chrome Polish has been my go to since as long as I can remember, unfortunately it's getting hard to find around here. 😢 I have to say, Mothers polish works really well, and is for all metals, and is awesome for cleaning aluminum.

Looks great not a fan of how the aux. lights look, my 79 had a push bar with lights on it, I liked that look, too bad I sold it years ago, but I have my 78 to fix up a bit and your videos will be a huge help, thank you!

Hoping to get in the Bronco in the fall, I've been gathering up parts, and already bought the quarter panels, so a lot less facing...but likely a lot of fitting. 🥴

Nice Bronco find! Im sure you know already but you could sell those red interior pieces to fund other stuff for the project. I have a two tone 79 Bronco my self!

With putting them lights on there at least your plugging in the holes and it might not rust so bad out them hold and you don't have them. Holes there. They'll be covered up. Good set a fog like to be great in them.

Ford offered a set of fog lamps for these broncos, they mounted them on a Push Bar, and they were made by S.E.V. Marchal...I thought it would a nice touch to put a set of those on the front, that thought died when I looked for a set of them 💸💸💸! Lol I should add that they were "Dealer Installed", and also offer on the 79 Mustang.
