Although not technically not a "Highboy" this F150 has the stance, look, and feel of a sweet Highboy. It is almost all original except the new carpet and interior trim that was reconditioned and some new soft good replaced with OE quality parts.

It's not a highboy. 1 the highboys last year was early 77. 2 the highboys were in 250 and 350 not a f 150

last high boy was 77w a 3 piece drivshaft, 78-79 are called lowboys an 2 driveshafts, learn your dent side fords. also no such motor as a 400m, its a 400 6.6 liter, 351m is a 5.8 liter.

Correct! The M slipped in there somehow. However, the video title and description are correct. As for the term "Highboy", it is a purist term, but we use it loosely to describe the these awesome pre-1980 4WD Ford trucks. If it is a pre-1977.5 and is an actual Highboy, we will use the term "True Highboy". The word "Lowboy" just sounds so wimpy. Thanks for following us!

The term “Highboy” isn’t a ford term. They were never sold from a dealership as a highboy. That name came later. So saying that this truck isn’t a highboy doesn’t really matter. Secondly it wasn’t lifted from the factory either it had a low pinion Dana 60 up front that made it look lifted, but used the same springs, and the three piece drive shaft you’re referring to is due to the divorced transfer case they used to make the front and rear drive shaft the same length for pinion angle

The 77 1/2 is when the lowboy came out one way to tell the difference between a 77 highboy and a lowboy is the 77 1/2 lowboy has two square gas tank lids on the bed and the 77 highboy still has one tank on the cab. other way you can tell is if it has a divorced transfer case or a married transfer case.

I just bought a 1978 f150 short bed 4x4 automatic from an old man in Oregon who kept it stored away for years body is clean and has 400 V8 he decided to sell and picked it up within hours of him posting it for $4500. It’s in California now and everyone wants to buy it for double the money haha I’m keeping it for sure
