@@kisscactus Sadly I don't have much to record with, but mine is a survivor with a little more needed tlc to get the paint and rear quarters lookin like the one in your vid. The 400's are fun to tinker with too. Stock they're a slug but it's not to hard to give'em some pep even with bolt on upgrades. Between jobs atm but I'm planning a full rebuild of it to make it a fun sleeper. Since I do most of my own work, the old carbureted cars are much easier to upgrade/maintain.

@@1983jblack < My parents bought a brand new 1976 LTD Landau, 460, skirts, it was hard loaded. The quality was poor. Windshield wipers jammed the first week, and it was hard to start with the 4 bbl carb loading the engine up. The Firestone tires came apart early on and the mini vent power windows went out. Big comfortable and fast but poor quality. This is one of the reasons Toyota is so I big now.

My Dad bought off the Showroom Floor a 1976 Country Squire with all the Bells & Whistle's. My Dad chose that Particular wagon because it was the only wagon in Stock with the 429 c.i motor with the 4 Barrel Carburetor. I remember the salesman telling my Dad the Dealership had several Wagons with the 400 & 460s, but my Dad for some reason only wanted the 429. 5 years later My Dad Traded in the wagon with 102.000 miles for a Brand New & again off the Showroom Floor a 1981 Mercury Marquis Brougham Coupe that was my Dad 1st Car that was Priced over $10.000 & my Dad now in his 90s still has his Merc that just turned to 70.000 miles, garaged since Day 1 & Serviced at Same Dealership

I have friends who bought cars from the estate of an elderly owner who could not drive anymore or have passed away. One guy in 2003 bought a 1974 Pontiac Parisienne Brougham 2-door coupe. The owner had died and car was purchased from a defunct dealership called Marvin Starr Pontiac in 1974. The owner was selling being he did not need another car and gasoline in Canada now sells for $5.50 a gallon even though they sell it by the litre. Also the Parisienne was the Canadian version of the Pontiac Bonneville. Another guy I know bought a 1972 Chevrolet Caprice Classic coupe from a lady who passed away in 2011. She passed after her 90th birthday 🎂 born in 1921. Car was in Edmonton, Alberta and was purchased from Don Wheaton Chevrolet, Oldsmobile in 1972. Same story as well no need for another car and the cost of gasoline in Canada.
