I had one that was identical i bought for 500 bucks in 88... i was 18 years old....best damned bike i ever had hands down. Let my brother in law take a spin ,he came back and it never had 3rd gear again....rode it that way for 2 more years before selling for 500 bucks...

The big boys back then only wanted the kz1000 or gold wing. A lot of good bikes were overlooked: the 750/4 sohc, the xs750 triple, the kz650.

While the 750 is the king of the Honda inline fours, I've alway been partial to the 550. It's seems much lighter and better handling. An early 70's 550 in brown with low-rise bars, shaved turn signals and no mirrors is the perfect motorcycle, in my opinion.

I had a 75 and 76 SS both belong to a Vietnam Vet who hung himself in the garage where he kept both bikes, i was leaving for Iraq in 03 and had herd about the bikes his mother had them in the garage still , she wanted me have them the 76 had an 836 kit with stacks and an oil cooler , i pulled a couple all nighters with new tires and a group of guys road up to Put in Bay before i left , i kept the original plate on the bike , came home eventually and was manufacturing meth for a few years ended up on the Feds most wanted list , i was listed deceased and had a social to a black lady with a Cleveland Ohio adress and a 06 super glide with a plae in a west chester cops name , today i run a treatment center and im a counselor , i almost ended up like the original owner, things have had a funny way of turning out , things can attach themselves to objects
