1978 Kenner Star Wars R2-D2 Large Figure

This was one of my favorites as a child. I sold off my large size collection years ago to focus on the mini figures, but I still have nostalgia for them!

Back in the days R2 large figure was not release in France as Meccano decide to import Radio control R2 only. I was happy to get one of them in the early 90's when I restarted collecting. Thanks for watching!

Back in the days, French Sub License Meccano desided to import the remote control very only and I was happy to ad one to my collection in the early 90's. 12 inch figures are really cool ☺

Lol I had that Sandcrawler vehicle as a kid with some Jawas and Luke. I'm kicking myself for just selling them at a garage sale in my teens cause they are worth a fortune now. I have the UCS Lego Sandcrawler still in the box and I don't plan on selling that ever

@@fu2201 what you see is 40-45 years of collection. I was lucky enough to start at one point when it was still possible collect them to a “reasonable” price but from a pure value point of view, some items today are expensive for sure and I’m glad I don’t need to collect them today

But there was also a Radio controlled Artoo. But honestly I never knew, that there was a big Artoo without wheels to move. I thought I knew everything about Kenner, but this here was totally new for me. :-o So, thanks Jean-Francois for this great information! 👏

Many thanks for your kind words! You have actually 3 kind of R2-D2 as a "large" scale toy. As you mention, Radio Controlled R2 D2, Large Action Figure and a Radio AM/FM R2-D2 shape. Jean-Francois, I have your Chronique Vintage book and it`s a true gift, but I guess ... now it is time for a second book from you, in which you show everything from Kenner Star Wars, that doesn't have to do with the famous 3.75" figures and their associated toys ... I mean toy-weapons, 6 inch figures, toothbrushes, Die Casts, puzzles, punching bags, cars etc. pp. ☺
