I just realised, this is the same solar company that was retailed by eatons department store! (I think). The solar company was eatons own brand of timepieces and they even used Rolex movements in some of their watches! Just some cool info lol

That balance wheel must’ve been messed with since it’s out of beat
@samsclocks2084Ай бұрын
That balance wheel also has very low amplitude which I’m guessing is caused by the hairspring being bent, and dirt and wear in the mechanism

@@samsclocks2084 I took the movement out since that chime gear was wedged into the movement somehow I saw the hairspring and it’s completely fine It’s been wound all the way for quiiite a while. I did check the movement and its clean not very much dust in it other than on the base of the clock. So it’s due to the spring being wound up for so long Not a whole lotta force going through it

Hopefully that’s all it is

@@samsclocks2084gave it some oil and it’s been running somewhat but hanging in. Hasn’t stopped so it’s luckily just hasn’t been running for the a while Bushings are perfectly fine, hairsprings perfectly fine so luckily it’s just needing a good run. it hasn’t been running for god knows how long with the spring fully wound Also update on that 1 rod thing It’s a factory defect, an Oopsie, a mistake lol. It ain’t broken but the factory made the lifter arm too short so instead of lifting 3 it lifts just the one I find that neat!. a first clock with a factory mistake
@samsclocks2084Ай бұрын
A factory mistake that’s actually good
@samsclocks2084Ай бұрын
Weird that it only strikes on one rod instead of three

@@samsclocks2084 Def surprised me for sure Love it though
@samsclocks2084Ай бұрын
I’m sure the previous owner wanted it that way so he made the strike lift shorter
@SnowstormsAntiquesАй бұрын
@ I don’t think so. I felt the lifter and it’s smooth. Not broken, I would’ve felt a sharp rough surface indicating it was broken off.

@@SnowstormsAntiquesthe arm was definitely ripped out of the three note chord hammer lifter.
