For whatever reason, the Cowboys had trouble beating the Vikings at home during the regular season when they played at Texas Stadium.
@user-qv3wb2gy1fАй бұрын
Well, in 4, previous 7 seasons C'wbys had d'ftd V'kngs in pl'yffs winning 1977-1978 season's N.F.C. Championship Game at home, 23-6 to earn berth in Super Bowl, XII, where they'd go on to defeat Broncos, 27-10

Isn't at home and at Texas Stadium redundant?

So many great personalities with the broadcast both to both coached Bud Grant and Tom Landry. Then the great backs in Dorset and Foreman and Staubach and Tarkenton. I was 11 years old then and Staubach was my hero Eventhough I lived in Wisconsin but my Packers were not very good back then.
@acornsucks2111Ай бұрын
Foreman was a great all around back, but had many injuries over the years and perhaps was overused.

Sr. Univ., Pgh. RB Tony D'rstt was 1976 College F'tbll season's H'smn Trophy w'nnr as he helped lead G'ldn P'nthrs to p'rfct 11-0-0 record in reg. season play/wire-to-wire 27-3 tr'mph over Univ., Ga. in XLIIIrd Sugar Bowl classic on New Yr.'s Day, 1977 (January 1, 1977-Sat.) for Univ., Pgh.'s lst National Championship in close to 4 decades. And sp'kng, 1976 College F'tbll season, I.Y.O., why do you think that ABC-TV N'twrk on Dec. 31, 1976 (Fri.-New Yr.'s Eve) d'clnd to air that season's XVIIIth Astro-Bl'bnnt Bowl cl'ssc bet. Univs., Neb./Tex. Tech as syndicated TVS n'twrk aired that game instead?
@user-qv3wb2gy1fАй бұрын
I imagine that ABC-TV Network passed up airing 1976 College F'tbll season's XVIIIth Astro-Bl'bnnt Bowl cl'ssc bet. Univ., Neb./Tex. Tech on New Yr.'s Eve night 🌙, 1976 (December 31, 1976-Fri.) fearing that its affiliates in Eastern time zone were concerned that w/live sporting event such as XVIIIth Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl College Football classic bet., Univ., Neb./Tex. Tech starting at 8:00 PM (E.T.) would have impact on stations' local news coverage, New Yr.'s Eve activities/in worst possible case, stretch into annual "New Yr.'s Rockin' Eve" musical 🎼 special. Now as l've mentioned before that XVIIIth Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl College Football classic on last day, historic Bi-Centennial yr., 1976 (December 31, 1976-Fri., New Yr.'s Eve) could moved ahead earlier in day from 8:00 PM (E.T.) to 3:15 PM (E.T.) w/ABC-TV Network starting coverage, game at 3:15 PM (E.T.)
@user-qv3wb2gy1fАй бұрын
On 2 separate occasions ABC televised annual Bl'bnnt Bowl College F'tbll classic:1966/7 seasons, back-to-back/1973-4-5 seasons in succession
