These highly potent twisted wedge heads have been modified with 3D modeling to feature new, restructured 11 degree intake and 13 degree exhaust valve angles to provide more airflow and performance! This set features the Street Ported runners which are a great entry-level CNC ported head to gain significant improvements over the factory heads. They are available with either a 53cc or 56cc combustion chamber. These heads are for OFF-ROAD use only and will not pass emissions testing.

I used these with a ford B cam on a 331 stroker years ago, trickflow intake, bbq shorty headers, and it pushed out 390hp at rear wheels at the dyno shop, I miss my old fox body

The prob. is different dynos, are calibrated diff.= will give diff. results. Im sure your combo ran well, and you sound like you were happy with it? But the engine in this video, has way better flowing 11R cyl. heads ( that werent available back in the day), with the smallest cc chamber ever offered by Tfs, for stock 302s= more compression ( 11 to 1 comp. In this 331)= more power, with a more powerful cam= Tfs stage 2, specs.= (int. Dur. @ .050- 224°, Lift .542), (exh. Dur. @ .050- 232°, Lift .562), Lobe sep. 112°, vs B cam specs.= (int. Dur. @ .050- 224°, Lift .480), (exh. Dur. @ .050- 224°, Lift .480). I would think this 331, in this video, has approx. 40 to 45Hp more or so, then your combo? Dyno shops used to setup there printouts to show the customers, estimated Flywheel Hp., and Tq., making the customer think the readout/printouts were chassis dyno results. If they did that, your 390Hp would make more sense, as the Tfs 11R heads, with 53cc, and stage 2 cam, made 432Hp on trick flows engine dyno, = +42Hp more than yours. Again not hating, just trying to put your power #s into perspective, vs these power #s.

Great gains thats roughly what i made (same HP but a few less TQ) with my 331ci back in 90s with TFS twisted wedge heads, Shorty headers are holding that setup back.

I went from 6.43s in the 1/8 with shortys to 6.42s with long tubes and then 6.41 with a victor JR. 351, flat tops, .600ish cam, dart heads, 750 Holley, 125 sniper jets, th400, 4000 stall and 4.56s. Shorty’s aren’t that bad. Had a similar set up on a 3rd gen firebird just a gm version. 355 flats, victor jr, 4.56 gear 125 same trans and 4.56 gear after some weight removal ran 6.50s with shortys. Not all shortys are created equal

Ported Old school TFS 170's could make similar power than these 11r's do. Ed Curtis and Brian Tooley had programs to make them do the numbers.

Big difference between those two cylinder heads, particularly when comparing to the 170cc's. The 190 11R's move a LOT of air.

just do a 351w swap! its the best investment i ever made..you immediately gain an extra 50 c.i. that with minor work and $ bolts directly in and if you so choose a 351w can be stroked to a 408, 418, 427 stump pulling cubic inches in a stock block and still be reliable...theres no replacement for displacement.

@@alltorque415 you need special motor mounts or keep stockers and get a cowl hood, 351 headers, swap engine accessory bracket, upper and lower intake, oil pan, sn95 sway bar mount. Those are the essentials, could be other small details. Also depends if you want efi or carb.

I would do it if I had a bad crank in my 302 but I wouldn't just throw it away. That and the fact that someone already hooked up 2.5 inch true duals with a h pipe so I'd hate to get rid of all that for a tall deck 351

Most likely would be similar numbers to this, seen a very similar setup on an engine dyno, and it was about ~100hp more than what this dyno’d which is generally about the amount that is parasitically lost through the drivetrain

Why would you use 110 leaded race fuel with EFI? The lead deposits will cling to the O2 sensors and throw the reading off. Just throw E-85/E98 in it instead ...but replace those o2 sensors first

It's because they Really Don't know what they are doing, case in point; the dyno'd an SVO with the stock Top Mount Intercooler and didn't use a fan to blow through the scoop. About like the Idiot Pat on Horsepower TV...

DEVIN WILIAMS supposedly factory roller blocks are good 450-500, not sure that’s a beat on it all the time racing situation though. Rule of thought, any block you pickup that hasn’t given up, is usually the good one, I got my block for free machinist said looks like a good one, Lol

What I was asking Is why do I seem to have more torque than most equal builds but also slight less horsepower? Maybe the Cobra intake off an actual 93 cobra instead of an aftermarket

On a 331, why didn't this car make over 400rwhp? These heads bolt right up no need to fly cut the pistons? A blower or nitrous would really wake that thing up

The hp numbers are pretty much dead on for the supporting parts on a 331..the real world hp numbers are not like what the internet claims they are

what kind of Dyno is used Dynojet , Mustang Dyno makes a big difference on numbers. number chasers prefer Dynojet much bigger numbers, my car made 292 HP on Dynojet and 232 on mustang Dyno and pulls better, when they told me the number I said what it made more power before I brought it to you, then he explained the differences, after driving my car a couple days I could feel the power increase.

5600 rpm is the peak?? Those heads would make a lot more power with a lot more camshaft. Why not build it to peak at 7200+ ?

So the results were: "Built 331" with basic bolt ons, shorty headers, aftermarket H/C/I: 363rwhp/376rwtq or 1.10rwhp/1.14rwtq per ci. For comparison, the dyno results on my 2006 GT were: Stock 281 3V with basic bolt ons, stock exhaust manifolds, stock H/C/I: 310rwhp/328rwtq or 1.10rwhp/1.17rwtq per ci. Basically shows just how efficient the stock 3V H/C/I are right out of the box.

I wish they would have given us more info on that car. I made 320 hp & 332 tq with a stock 302 shortblock, 11R 190 heads, an Ed Curtis cam and Holley SM2 on 93 octane through a stock AOD and converter.

@@02autogt Totally disagree with you there mate. I think that title goes to the '98 & earlier 2V engines, though they do have longevity in their favour. The 3V is also very reliable but you have to keep on top of the oil changes, and use a high quality synthetic blend or full synthetic to avoid problems with the VCT system.

Which intake should they have run. I'm so used to seeing LS numbers. A good built LS1 ( 346 ci ) make 400-460rwhp with 400-420rwtq. It'll have stock bottom and from stock to 300cfm@.500" lift type of aftermarket head, cam, exhaust, possibly intake ( ls6 or fast ). A good built LS3 will make 450-550rwhp and 430-465rwtq. I want to see 331 and 347 fords making 420-550 rwhp and torque over 400 rwtq, showing good efficiency in the combination. @@evilinside5984

same throw some tea trick flow high ports on that bitch big runners, a nice efi victor intake with an elbow and tb, grab a custom solid roller cam from someone, t&d shaft rockers, and throw a nice turbo hanging off the front like oh i dunno them ball bearing forced induction turbo hanging off the front or whatever… put a nice th400 behind that…… I could go on for days, but yeah they could at least put huge heads on it, solid roller cam, and at least spray the bags off it to see where the power is

It's sad that in 2017 we STILL have pushrod 5.0 guys realizing bigger IS better. Put a set of real headers, real intake, and real cam and you will see over 400rwhp with those 11r heads. Come on guys, this isn't a stock shortblock HCI build and it isn't 1998 anymore. Wake up

Yup. People worried about a head being too big yet you got the LS oem heads flowing what smaller tfs heads are flowing and then are amazed when a big head , ported intake , custom cam setup does the opposite of what they thought power wise.

Exactly! How many "stock" applications run 110 leaded race fuel? None. They are designed to run pump gas, which tells me this engine in order to use 110 octane is running a compression ratio at/above 12:1 and not "roughly 11:1". Even with aluminum heads, efi with knock sensors and custom maps I don't recommend going above 11.8:1 (N/A) on pump gas or a dynamic compression above 8.4:1. Unless you are planning on running E-85 (the 85% ethanol : 15% gas, octane rating of 100-105). Ethanol responds like race fuel, it burns lower temps and slower - which requires high compression to harness the energy. This test is misleading to guys building a streetable car....On the street you use what is at the pump, there were no cam specs given with the swap, no rocker info, no dyno barometric pressure or corrections given. In essence this test didn't have the pertinent info for consumers to make an informed choice.

Not to mention, the factory rev. Limiter is set to 6,250 Rpm, on 5 speeds. Both of my 5 speeds= 6,250 Rpm factory rev. Limiters. My auto 5.0 is 5,500 Rpm limited, as ford new the automatics wouldnt hold up as well.

why? they all make within +/- 5 hp in any test you can try to find but they all wont tell you that CFM has very little to do with how a true chambered muffler works. I have them on my zephyr with an H pipe. 2.5 inches. stock 302 sounds good for now. I want these heads in 170
