Ed Drinkwater in the red and black stripe shirt and 2 different ski outfits, red hat dark suit and the dark cap. We dated through 76, 77 and then met again in '79 and married in '81. RIP Eddie! He passed 2004 of a brain tumor. He may also have been the snow groomer as he often worked that job. He was also on the pamphlet for Big White either 78 or 79. Me and our 3 boys miss him dearly. So wonderful to see real footage! ❤️ My boys are definitely over the moon emotional to see this. Thank you!!!

Great to see this Film!. I worked with and filmed some of this with "Chef" Hugo. Here are some of the names that I recall and the time lines: 1:03 - Highway 33 near Black Mountain. 6:14 - Hugo Koller running to the top at Sunrise. 7:09 Probably Ed Drinkwater building us a jump - running the Bombardier (usually he was in the Thiokol). 7:31 - Ski Photographer Bryan Anglin (Nakusp) eating breakfast in the staff lounge. 7:44 - possibly Jim Anderson coming out of the Day Lodge. 8:18 Possibly Kent ... (?). 8:56 - Possibly Ed Drinkwater or Gary Sanguin ? 9:00 - Hugo Koller skiing the Cliff. 9:37 - Geoff Moore doing his favourite "Side Kick" on the Tower 9 Jump. 9:50 Geoff listening to Stairway to Heaven on a Realistic tape recorder before AstralTune or Walkmans were invented. 11:18 - Ed Drinkwater (one of my favourite guys to ski with as we both worked nights and skiing most everyday that year) Ed was a very good man and an excellent Groomer operator. He used to give us rides up to the top on moonlit nights so we could ski back down to the Damfino Lounge... 12:35 - I think is the Bartender Derek "Smitty" Smith. 12:52 - Eddie! 13:01 - Hugo's watch showing about 8:08 am as we had hiked up to the top on the T-Bar line to film sunrise. 13:07 - Gilbert Quesnelle (Chimney Lake) Geoff Moore (Williams Lake) finally reaching the top about a half hour after Hugo got there...(we all left at the same time). 13:23 - Gilbert then Geoff with his Movie Camera and Gilbert with a bottle of wine... 14:19 - Hugo and Gilbert. 15:45 Geoff crashing on the Cliff. 16:01 - Hugo and Gilbert crashing on the Cliff... 16:30 - Possibly Gary Sanguin and Big Al "FreeBird" Doerksen and definitely Ed Drinkwater on his Fischer C-4's. 17:09 - behind the grader is a cabin with a Blue Roof... Later that winter that Cabin blew completely to smithereens almost killing the couple that owned it, when the pilot light in the basement blew up the cabin that had filled with Propane while they were away for a few days! Hugo filmed the grader from his patio in Cliff Serwa's old house and I lived in the room below. Sadly we lost roommate and friend - the "notorious" HD mechanic Bill Mills (Bill worked for Jeremy Hopkins) Bill passed away in a freak accident earlier that winter in our driveway. Originally from Red Mountain, Bill was the most popular character amoung all of us. He had a pair of Nancy Greene's original brown Strato 222 DH Team Canada ski's that he gave me (the beginning of my love for long skiis) after he passed I gave them back to a family member - RIP Bill and long live your favourite Drink "Comfort & Coke". 17:57 - the Serwa House. 18:14 - the Monashee Inn. 18:35 - the Day Lodge. 18:47 - I don't remember who owned this place but we certain jumped, flipped and threw people off that balcony (some from Japan...Kon-Yuki!) Maybe the greens keeper from the Kelowna County Club owned it? 18:51- the DamFino Lounge where we all played the original Video Game "Pong". 19:22 - Gilbert "Faceplant" Quesnelle. 19:39 - Eddie. 20:19 - Sue...? 20:22 - Geoff the Gary Sanguin? then Ed at Tower 9. 20:56 Geoff then Ed jumping the Granite Boulder by the Damfino Lounge face. 21:10 - Apline Helicopters Bell-47 CF-NOB. 25:31 - Food & Beverage Manager, Werner Defilla. 22:07 - Ed & Geoff jumping Tower 9. 22:20 - Jerry Kyle at the mic during the End of Season Party where they gave away tickets for two to Hawaii... 22:58 - Werner Defilla and possibly Jennifer Talifero?. 23:09 - Heather? 23:25 - Chef Hugo. 23:36 - Gary Sanguin. 23:53 - Eddie. 24:34 - Jerry and Bryan Anglin. 24:53 - Brian James (Ski School and Shops)
