I really don't know anyone else with one .. most people do the LS Swap or go with the 350. I'm happy as it is .. it drives 80mph + if i want to, and i think thats plenty enough ..

About 267 V8 engines, they were made since 1978 until the end in 1982 and you could find them in Chevys Malibu, Camaro, ElCamino, Nova, Montecarlo, Impala and Caprice. The central points with this engine were the fuel economy and low emissions and the code of this engine is G in 79 GM models and it s a good engine certainly.

I could have bought one in '79. Dealer had two white ones with red bucket seat interiors. One was a 305-4bbl and the other was a 267 with a t-top. I bought a VW Rabbit because of the gas prices

Mensch...dieser Monte Carlo sieht ja mal so richtig amtlich aus. Perfekte Farbgebung, innen sowie außen. Die meisten Monte Carlo Modelle kommen ja immer nur in diesem langweilig bräunlichen Farbton daher... Dieses Gefährt ist definitiv mein Traum...rockt! Da kann man einfach stolz drauf sein:)

I agree the reliablity is more important than the visual. Depending on far down you press the accelerator, you definitely want her to hum or scream. Thanks for sharing. It's idling well, and like the condition of her exteriror and interior.

i just did a 1200mile Road Trip to Moanco/Monte Carlo in April and another 600mile Road Trip just last weekend. I have a video uploaded where you can hear how it sounds when the accelartor is pressed down .. and screaming it does :D Thx for you comment and excuse my late response.

I had a 1979 malibu landau classic the same color 2-tone light and dark carmine. It is a very striking color combo with the red interior. Mine also had bucket seats and a 305 4barrell.Yea I sold it and am still kicking myself. Because when their gone their gone. So stick to your guns and keep her.

Yeah, I see this story so much.. As of right now I'm never going to sell the Monte, I'd rather let it sit for a couple month. I hope you can find a replacement someday or maybe already have. 79 Malibu would be a great addition to my garage.

Also the buckets and the centre console is a sought after option I like that you kept the wire caps Ive seen hundreds on the internet and tbh its hard to beat the stock look, Did you lower it? Ive got a 79 Monte in the UK hope it will be as nice as yours one day.

tbh, i'd rather have the bench and Column Shifter, but i heard the floor shifter is more reliable, so .. i can live with it :) If you've seen my other videos, i once had OG Wire wheels, but the original hub caps looks so much better .. i have it lowered with 3" Lowering spring from OPGI. Don't know you monte ;) but i'm sure you'll do a great job fixing it!

Beautiful car sir. One question though, did the 79 come with the same trim like the 78's did? I've own a couple of 78's in the past. I remember 79 had a rocker panel molding trim. Either way your MC looks & sounds good 👍 G-Bodies for Life

Ich denk mal jedes Auto ist zuverlässig wenn man sich gut drum kümmert. Ich war dieses Jahr bereits in Monaco/Monte Carlo mit meinem (2000km in 4 Tagen!) .. und letztes WE Road Trip 900km. Meiner läuft wie ein 3er Golf mit dem kleinen V8. Wenn man sie halt auch Fährt und nicht nur in der Garage stehn hat, sind die sehr zuverlässig!

@@bigsleez8655 jetzt ja. Hatte viel Probleme mit dem Fernlichtrelais was mir immer alles rausgehauen hat. Stand schon in Berlin (aufm weg zurück) und Licht ging nicht mehr.. Mitten in der Nacht 😂 shit happens. Da wird viel gedoktort, bei mir auch.. Aber es hält. Falls du magst check mein insta @heezy_7987 .. Da gibt's paar mehr Bilder.

​@@bigglefty75 It's funny that you seem to know my car better than I do. Nevertheless you are wrong. The car was built for an Austrian customer with (optional) floor shifter and bucket seats in the Canadian plant in Ontario. So I would definitely say that they are "original" to my car.

Thanks brother!! Bought the car back in 2016 and was fortunate enough that it was almost as clean as it is today. Had to put a complete new exhaust on it, changed the suspension (twice) and rebuild the carb. Other than that.. With running costs id say I'm down to around.. 6-7k (had a minor transmission failure in between and also gave it a nice detailing with ceramic coating)
