Thank you much for this video, as i needed it. Im not crazy about the noisy music, but you did a very good job making this simple and easy. Again thanks. I just bouogth a new carb for my 83 F150 six, and i didnt know exactly how to change the choke, ans this one is different from the old carb.

What are the advantages of a manual choke? I have the yfa on my ford f100 with the wired choke, (automatic truck)that I had to tie wire around to the throttle to keep it from closing😂.

I have had many F series 67-79 100/150/250. You have complete control of the choke with manual. The workings inside the automatic choke can be flaky. Go with manual. A manual choke is controlled by a lever on the side of the carb. A lever or knob inside the vehicle is then attached by a cable. This requires a person inside the car to slowly open the choke by hand. An automatic choke uses a metal spring to open and close the choke plate. The spring is wound in a housing and attached to the choke linkage on one end. As the engine warms up, it warms the metal spring. As the spring warms, it expands, rotates, and opens the choke plate.

U can get them at pretty much any auto parts stores they sell a kit for the conversion
