Classic Michigan Replay with Bo Schembechler. The most exciting play in the first 100 years of Michigan Football history. Lee Corso is the IU coach that catches the clock stopping lateral (now an illegal play). Bob Ufer with the classic call. Go Blue

When we left the stadium that day after the game, someone was playing Ufer's broadcast outside the stadium many minutes later and Bob was still coming apart at the seams. The stadium erupted into a roar that I had never experienced before. AC was the man, but that team at that moment was the absolute best. What a day!

I still get choked up when I look at this video. Ufer's heart is bursting with pure joy. Then I realize that He and Bo are now in "Football Valhalla" with Benny, Fielding & Fritz. Go Blue.

My favorite Meeeeechigan football play and win of all time! John Wangler threw a really nice pass to AC and he did the rest. What speed and balance Carter had!!! Mr. Ufer could call a game like no one else could! 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍👍

Someone asked me when I became such a big Michigan fan. Oct 27, 1979: I'd already lived in Ann Arbor 5 years - and of course followed the Wolverines. On that day - I was in my townhouse a good two miles away when Carter made that touchdown. You could hear that tremendous roar of the crowd from that far away. That was the day I realized what the Michigan Wolverines were: legendary! It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

Was sitting in the parking lot of Bay Side Ice Area in Saginaw/Bay City listening to UFer's call as I was late for a hockey game that we were playing that day. Coach was really mad at me.

R, i stopped going to games back in aught 6, but from the 60’s until then it started dead in the end zone, certainly sec.32, maybe 33 or 34 also, don’t remember, and wrapped around the corner toward the press box down to sec. 27 probably still the same

Ufer is so cool to listen to, at least if you're a Michigan fan. My dad was a sportswriter in the press box for this game. He said that when this play happened, all but himself and two other writers had left to go down to the locker room (those writers thought the game was over). My dad and the other two writers had to go down and describe the play to all the other writers who missed it.

Don't recall ever hearing of Bob Ufer, but to hear him go totally crazy is refreshing!! In this age of sterile announcers, its nothing like hearing a "homer" who loves his team. Hearing him in tears helps me to remember why I absolutely love college football!!!

My husband and I used to listen to all the Michigan games called by him. Every Saturday. He called Bo "General Patton" because of Schembechlers love of the ground game. Him and his cotton picking horn. Harbaugh was waiting in the wings as he was there 82-83 as Quarterback. Win, lose or draw Ufer was every man, woman and child that even THOUGHT about M8chigan as the team to watch.

No one at UM talks about the play before the TD, but they made the intentional-fumble-out-of-bounds play illegal the next year as a result of that play. Funny thing is the ball went straight to Corso. Great clutch play, I have to admit, but it does sum up IU football.

Look at 0:37 - the ball carrier deliberately throws a backward pass (lateral) out of bounds. It feels like a logical thing to do, but is/was it legal?

Jim, what you have to understand is that in the days of “the big 2 & little 8” the idea of Michigan losing to indiana was unthinkable! when fucking rich rod lost to indiana it was the first time in 37 years! for indiana a tie WAS a win!!! just like the great documentary harvard beats yale 22-22

dear dee donner ramone, we were NOT on the right path of course, but we finally are now! go blue! and i used to hang out with the real dee dee when he was hanging out in A2 in the 90’s at the late great amy henderson’s house. he tried to steal amy’s beautiful bass player debbie and debbie’s best friend beth, the beautiful bass player for another band (monster bait & zug island quartet) and take them with him on tour in europe, but they stayed with thier bands and bf’s instead! he was actually going to join monster bait or at least for one night at 2nd chance, not sure if it actually happened, i have to ask debbie!

Okay, great moment for you Michigan fans. But being from Indiana, this one play sums up Indiana football. Totally inept players and coaches. Corso you idiot, go for two after you made it 21-20. Instead, Mr. College Football Gameday kicks the point and PLAYS FOR THE TIE! HELLO! As Herman Edwards would say, you play to win! Carter scored thanks to some of the worst tackling you will ever see. This is why Indiana is a basketball school. GRRRR!!!!
