Thats awesome. I'm looking to get one, you recommend the auto or the manual?
@FAST928GTS4 жыл бұрын
@@billystutz55Both mine have been Auto, I have driven a manual and would have preferred one but i could not find one with the interior i could live with so I went auto and I still love the car. But drive both you may not like the dog leg gear box.

HHstutz55 personally, I like the manual, 85 or 86. The S4 is nice as well, but I don’t like the look as much. If you get an auto, make sure it is an ‘82 or later for the 4 speed.

At the inaugural Barrett -Jackson Auction in Houston, TX this car sold to a private collector for over $1 million dollars. I had the chance to look at this car up close and it's in immaculate condition. I still want to own one.

Such great scenes with this car, loved this movie. Brought back memories seeing the Porsche 928 for the first time at the Chicago Auto Show. It's such a unique model and always looked like a shark to me with the body styling, it's still awesome.

The 928 that went in the lake had an unusually high front ride height. Look at the gap between top of the front tire and fender. Most likely the engine and complete drive train was removed

I had no idea this car was a 1979 model. I just assumed it was a 1983 model because the movie was made in 83. When the DeLorean came out in the early 80s it was all the rage but somehow it died pretty quickly, maybe it cost too much?

4:15 That's not what he said. Speaking of documentation, it's right there in the movie. Can't even get that right?

About 1984 I drove a euro version 928. Aluminum V8 was very fast and smooth. I've had camaros ,chevelles, and drive a LT4 vette today..but I think that 928 was the fastest.

Ive been wanting to ask this question for 35 years, and by the video you probably know the answer - IS THE SOUND OF THE CAR WHEN THEY DRAG RACE IS THAT A REAL SOUND OF THE CAR ENGINE REVVING OR IS IT NOT?
@patrickshea79514 жыл бұрын
Orthodox American movie magic! The car is actually very quiet. Like the proper German car that it is 👍
@rhettadams91614 жыл бұрын
That is the sound of a US spec 928 opened up though, so it likely is.
@jameswillard14 жыл бұрын
Rhett Adams yes, I’ve heard that the sounds were of an actual 928 hit that it was straight piped or something like that
@robknight1643 жыл бұрын
Definitely not 😂 those porches had pretty small quiet engines it wouldn't sound great if you revved it so I assume they dubbed over a different engine

@@robknight164 Porsche 928's had anywhere from 4.5 L to 5.4 L V8 engines. I would not say those are small engines.

The early cars were dogs, slow and weak manual transmissions. Get a 1984 or newer 928, better performance and tight gearboxes. The GT/GTS are the true collector 928s.
