I totally agree. Nobody on the planet- not John Bonham or Ringo or Ginger Baker or anybody could have filled Keith Moons shoes in the Who. I don’t care what anyone says he was the greatest drummer in rock history. Kenney was a great guy and did the best job possible under impossible circumstances.
@robschachter-rj2uo10 ай бұрын
Kenney was also well accomplished with the small faces and faces. Him and moon had the same drum tech and were friends from the late 60s. He was the natural choice. Wasn’t about style but what Pete wanted after moon passed.

He helped the transition of the band into the 80's sound of rock music that was less chaotic (more formulaic?) You can hear John's bass explore more interesting lines on the Face Dances album probably because of Kenny's style.

@@RollrightKnightsI watched him get arrested and police interview, if he wasn’t a millionaire he’d be in prison on the protection wing. The Kids are alright.

@@hardlines2635 once again for the hard of thinking. He told the Police he was going to purchase child porn online, in advance. He was researching for his biography. He was abused himself as a child. The Police operation found that he had viewed but not downloaded the material (viewed in the case of jpegs or similar can mean just clicked on, that's enough to modify the date). He told he Police in advance that he would do this and pay with his credit card. He admits he was coming at the whole thing with a 'White saviour' complex, but thought it should be exposed as he felt banks were complicit. He accepted the caution rather than go to court. The Police officers investigating the incident actually wrote to him in support of his claims.

How were they NOT consumed with grief? Is this the famous British "reserve"? (A characteristic of British people the folks of India and other British colonies, for example, never felt. ) I'm still sad that Moonie died, even though Jones is great on the amazing "Face Dances" Lp.
