Your car is a grey market import The euro m110 engines have more hp and torque than the US m110 Someone ticked almost everybody when this car was built except ac and cruise Rear headrests are an option ,pretty rare

I should mention that they rust under battery trays real bad Battery acid causes this The water runs into pass side of the floor boards and rot them out.

I had to sell it unfortunately and its one of the only cars I regret getting rid of.😒 It ended up going to someone who was going to restore it. I am always keeping an eye out for another one.

I can see that you removed the fuel accumulator in your setup, is everything normal or is there 'something unusual happen' whe cold and warm start?

At the time it would have a slightly longer than usual crank but that was about it.

Did you do a valve adjustment when you got it running? Does the rear SLS still work? The air pump crap isn’t original to the car if you didn’t know. My theory as to why the car was parked is that something went wrong the owner didn’t want to fix and they had trouble selling a non ac Euro car in California back when these were just considered cheap Mercedes so it sat.

The motor sounded pretty healthy so we didn't end up adjusting the valves. The SLS worked like a charm and I ended up towing a trailer behind it! The person who i bought it from had gotten the car from an auction 10 years ago knowing it had a bad fuel pump and just forgot about it. It was an honor to bring this thing back from the dead.
