Great race, great horses, Gammalite was amazing coming from last, terrible to see him get the crap whipped out of him

Lucky enough to see him race in some really exciting races at Albion Park, probably 4 or 5 times. That was one thing in regards to Leo O'Connor, he wasn't afraid to travel with him. If you were going to the tracks in those days anywhere in Australia or New Zealand you got to watch him race. Whilst he might not have had the blistering speed of a Popular Alm the horse never gave up.

Loved listening to George call all sports. His voice was iconic. Harness racing, cricket, Commonwealth Games, Aussie rules. May he RIP.
