What a special game to attend!!! I'd trade you Marshawn Lynch's Beastquake in Seattle for Rashad's Miracle catch game any day! That run by Lynch is considered one of the greatest playoff runs of All-Time too. I was there! And a long-time Hawks fan. But would swap you for Ahmad's game easily. Childhood memories tend to be much more special as I was 11 when the Miracle at the Met took place. Rashad was raised in Tacoma, WA where I grew up as well!

PS I was at Bo Jackson's greatest game at Seattle's Kingdome too! A Mt. Rushmore MNF game if there ever was one, considering the hype of Bo coming into it. Stats for Jackson that night: 221 yds 3 TDs including a 91 yd tunnel run! The only night greater than Bo's on MNF was from the Oilers Earl Campbell vs the Dolphins at the Houston Astrodome. A wild shootout that put "Luv ya blue" on the map!

There was something so familiar about watching the Vikings during the holiday season. I grew up on the East Coast and the Giants and Jets were non existent during the 70’s and even though they lost in the Super Bowls it seemed like watching Minnesota in December was guaranteed…

One of the best finishes, in one of my fave NFL seasons of the "modern" era. 1980 Saw fairly tight divisional races in both conferences. No one team dominated, as '80 saw records of 12-4, and a number of 2nd bests at 11-5 - all making the playoffs. Even the "marginal" NFC Central's division winner Minnesota, needed this fantastic finish in week 15, to edge same record Detroit for the division title. They then played SB finalist Philly pretty tight in their NFC Divisional. 🏈

As a 9 year old Viking fan at the time of this game I am forever grateful for the Browns stupidity @2:09:30. In an era with no 2-point conversion attempt opportunities, the Browns have an 8 point lead, a two possession game. The Browns have a 2nd & 7 at their own 41 with 2:18 to go. And the Vikes have 2 timeouts left. Just running two plays up the middle, your punting with about 2:08 left with the Vikes out of time outs, or at the 2:00 minute mark with the Vikes having 1 timeout left depending on how they played it. Instead you come out guns a blazing and throw the ball? Unreal. Even Dan Campbell would ask, "what are you doing"?

Sipe unfortunately was the victim ultimately of his own "gun-slinger" tendencies. He won them a bunch of "cardiac kid" games that year, but he also blew their playoff game against the Raiders that year by throwing an INT in the endzone. As an analyst at the time said... "He should have just thrown that ball out of the end zone into Lake Erie and given up on the play (Newsome was double covered and Sipe threw a very ill advised pass to him.

Who's here after the latest Minneapolis Miracle 2022?

Which one do you mean?

@@bryanmachin3738 I would guess he was talking about the comeback win against the Colts. Biggest comeback win in NFL history. The actual Stefon Diggs "Minneapolis Miracle" was in 2017.
2pt attempt did not exist in #Nofunleague until '90s if PK opts to throw to #Wingback instead of kicking, only 1pt was awarded. Not sure if opposing team blocks kick and returns ball other end zone of '1pt safety' was a rule.

Who do you think 🤔 was the best quarterback that the Vikings ever had?

Uhhh.... Fran of course! Who else!

@@bryanmachin3738 Yeah, no debate there. And they've really struggled to find consistency at QB since. Kramer was great at times, but the next season was kind of a microcosm of his career. Great... and then NOT. He was playing amazing and they were 7-4. But then he started throwing interceptions in bunches and they lost their last 5. What a disaster. Then he had a great season in '86, but they missed the playoffs. And that was pretty much it for "Two Minute Tommy." Then a bunch of guys past their prime, journeymen and wasted draft picks. They only guy that we could really get excited about was Daunte. He was great for a few years, but in typical Viking fashion, an injury was basically the end of his effective career way too soon. And nothing has really changed. With the defense much improved and Kirko playing lights out, I was getting pretty excited about this season. But of course, the achilles injury brought that hope to an end.

@@Enigma71559 Yeah, I concuur. This season had a lot of potential before that Kirk's injury. I remember that Randall Cunningham had that great year in 1998, but he was near the end at the time, so I suppose he qualifies for the "has beens" that you mention. Something ALWAYS goes wrong for the Vikes--so regularly it's almost uncanny!

@@bryanmachin3738 There was an article several years ago now in SI. It was about the "Most Snake-Bitten Franchises in Sports." At the time, the Chicago Cubs were #1 on the their list. The Vikings were #2. Well, the Cubs won the World Series in 2016, so...

@@Enigma71559 Yeah, it IS that bad. I mean, the Lions and Browns rarely get into the playoffs at all. But no one consistently blows it in the playoffs like the Vikings have done over the years.
