I can't believe that is Mike Joy's voice! Ned Jarrett's voice is easy to recognize. Look how far both have come, because Mike worked alongside the late Barney Hall for MRN in the late 1970's-early 1980's. Hard to believe that soon Mike would become a CBS pit reporter, then the lap-by-lap analyst for CBS in late 1997, and has been with FOX since 2001. Ned, legendary alongside Bob Jenkins and the late Benny Parsons for ESPN and ABC, and coming back with Ken Squier to call one hour of the Southern 500 the last couple of years. So many Hall of Fame members in this video: Ned Jarrett, Benny Parsons, Dale Earnhardt, David Pearson, Waddell Wilson, Buddy Baker, Cale Yarborough, Richard Petty, and obviously mentioned Darrell Waltrip. Allison brothers of course.

I really really love watching these old Nascar races a whole whole lot and I am still big Nascar fan for a long long time and I have been to a Nascar races and I still watch greatest Nascar races and Nascar rewind

Gee! To hear Buddy Baker speaking in this video, when compared to what I recall him sounding when in the broadcast booth after his retirement from racing . . . what a difference! You can definitely tell he got some voicing lessons when he made that transition.

What I liked was neither Dale Sr. or Buddy even went intro commercial talk about The Car sponsors Oldsmobile was just great today.

Why do you hate sponsors? You want these guys to not make money?

@@jamesgentry13 The greats from the past would normally mention the owner of the car and describe the issues or non-issues the car was having. I think the attitude from that era was the sponsors name was plastered on the side of the car and they would stand next to it so why mention the The Curly-bob, Glory to all, dish soap TV provider insert car brand with 5 other sponsors name before even telling the issues on the car. All it does is annoy the older guys like me who went and watched the races whenever we had a chance. I am not hating on the sponsor I just don't like for the pit reporter and folks watching the race to be taken away from what is going on the track because you don't see much of the race with all the commercials on the TV.

Baker dropped the Grey Ghost low off 2 and Dale couldn't get enough of a run to pass until they got off 4 - good racing.

Waddell Wilson was ahead of everyone else on top end horsepower at that time - his engines would really go at 'dega and Daytona.
