1980 Yamaha SR250G 1st test drive. Refresh of 5k mi bike. Gave it to my helper who turns 16 next mo.

This bike was bought new by my son-in-laws Uncle. It has been sitting around the shop for years. Such a low mile bike with only 5430 miles on it. Did a major tune-up Adjusted valves, timing chain, changed oil, rebuilt carb, replaced spark plug then stripped down paint for a re-paint to much better than it would have been when new. At same time teaching my helper how to restore, paint etc. 1st test drive yesterday and it runs rides fantastic. Since so many hours were spent and $$ I decided to just give it to my helper. With parent approval of course. It will be a great beginner bike that gets 70 MPG. Any new parts were NOS Yamaha including the seat.
