I've always been amazed at the strength will & determination of these men to break free through the most difficult & struggling times never allowing those trying to keep them locked away forever to break them or their will....

Yea this in my opinion is just as amazing as the 1983 escape, the M60 gang was one of the last great Belfast Brigade units, the supergrass trials destroyed the Belfast brigade.

All prisoners, everywhere dream of escaping. I tend to think of these prisoners as political prisoners, like Mandala and there are times when their freedom benefits society, although I admit that is rare. But didn’t the Loyalists neatly paint “Loyalist POW “ over the entrance to their H block in the Maze? One person’s terrorist….
@ogrebattle22763 Жыл бұрын
@@ATLmodK They were political prisoners....
@ATLmodK Жыл бұрын
@@ogrebattle22763 I do too, I was trying to subtlety make that point, but perhaps I was too subtle. When I said it was rare I meant that most people, currently, are in jail for a crime with no political or ideological motive, and should probably stay there. However, it was far from being that simple 30 years ago in the Maze for instance. I do think that releasing the paramilitary prisoners on both sides was the right thing to do.

I was in the crum at the time of escape and had same solicitor Oliver Kelly as escape gang and knew solicitor in video, who had much more hair at the time, 1981. I was an ODC, not political but I met Joe Docherty and fats Campbell, seen in video, they did not disguise their dislike of me as I was an armed robber, there was segregation in the crum between political and non political prisoners at the time.
