1981 National Finals Rodeo NFR Oklahoma City

The 1981 National Finals Rodeo "NFR" televised event. This event was sponsored by the Hesston corporation, Dodge Trucks and Wrangler Apparel. The hosts are Red Steagall, Hadley Barrett, Bob Eubanks and Bob Tallman.
This recording was digitized from a 120 minute runtime Quasar VC120 VX format videotape that i purchased from ebay. The quality is quite low but i have not found a more complete recording than this one on KZbin. I have not added watermarks or added audio commentaries to preserve this recording's original presentation.
I plan to upload more videos regarding the National finals Rodeo in the upcoming weeks. Enjoy.

Sorry, someone else purchased that recording. I purchased these about a year ago via eBay for $40 each. I honestly am not a fan of Rodeo but it would have been very hippocritical for me not to share them. I appreciate Rodeo and Country music because they are part of America's roots.

Thank you for the information. Enjoy these classic broadcast recordings while you can. They will be taken down on the 24th of May, 2022. No options are being offered by the PRCAProRodeo copyright owners. The entire runtime was manually flagged beginning at the 0:00:00 mark, the entire thing. I still feel proud that these were shared as long as they have. If I could go to the past I would not change anything regarding this action. In my opinion these belong to you the viewers.

No problem. They are yours. Someone dedicated their time to record them many years ago. I thought about running them through a 4K upscaling program that uses artificial intelligence but I decided to keep them as is.

That specific recording must be available on a broadcast grade U-Matic format videotape somewhere deep in the archives of one of many American historical socities. There are many rules and fine print regarding the posting of such recordings. So far I have not been asked to cease and desist. It is quite the opposite because I have received nothing but positive comments. These Rodeo recordings are the most viewed videos on my channel. I do this as a hobby. If I was a professional I would have the time, resources and access to professionally made recordings. For now I share what I buy which are home made recordings.

The vr-1000 VX format machine made by Quasar is easy to find here in the U.S.A. I do not know how difficult the National VX-1000 is to aquire in Asia.

Yes. The VX format was released in 1975 in Japan by the National company. The VCord2 and VHS formats were also released in Japan before being introduced to the U.S.A.

Yeah It took me some dedication to getting certain audio tape formats (especially the 3M Revere machine and Muntz 4 track) but I still don’t have DAT, DCC, and Elcaset in my collection. But I’m gonna try and aim for a VX, Vcord, or Technicolor tape system one day. But right now I’m trying to get some of the few American audio formats for my collection.

@@oldradiosnphonographs I remember seeing a KZbin video about 6 years ago regarding the ability to store video onto a DAT tape. The KZbinr shows the Big Buck Bunny computer animated film. He did a wonderful job and even gives links to the necessary software needed for such a feat.

You are 100 percent correct and I honestly apologize. There must be better recordings out there waiting to be shared. These broadcasts were recorded before I was born by someone in the central U.S.A. They were not recorded on the popular and superior VHS or Beta formats of the time. They were recorded onto the very odd and low performing Quasar VX videotape format. It has been a challenge for me to capture these recordings digitally. I do own more of these recordings but I am currently researching a better way of capturing them via trial and error. This format is very uncommon even by professionals. These videotapes cost me $40 each via eBay. The Quasar VR-1000 VCR, dedicated time base corrector and USB 3.0 component video capture device was a $1,200 investment that I made two years ago. I am debating weather to overhaul my vintage video capture setup to a $2,500 setup. This hobby is not cheap.

@@renegonzalez6755 Good Luck! You invested a lot in these. I still like them. VCR was a new thing in 81. I don't know much about Quasar VX format. like most other people, I went with VCR, Al Bundy went with Beta, LOL!
