I have the same feelings and I was born in early 1977. I, also, cannot get my head around the concept that things from around that time and onwards, the rest of the 1970s and all of the 1980s are slowly beginning to earn the statuses of antiques. Eep! Same deal as the rock songs that I listened to in my teens (most of the 1990s) is beginning to earn the statuses of classic rock songs... :/

@@ralphdougherty1844 I've only seen it like 5 to 10 times at the most. But here's the thing. It's really gory and disturbing, especially toward the very end when the ark is opened and the main bad guys get their head shrunk, face melted, and exploded. I've been disturbed for life at 10 years old when I was introduced to Raiders of The Lost Ark. I learned behind the scenes how they did it all a few years back and the face melt part is what really gets me. What the production guys did was that they built a wax model of Ronald Lacey's head and face (actor who played Arnold Toht) exposed it to a heat lamp and then shot the whole thing melt all the way down to the skull. I regretted that day not being like Indy and his girlfriend to close my eyes during that particular scene because it was so gory and disturbing. Originally that whole movie was going to be rated R because of that scene; however, the editors were able to edit enough out to get the rating downgraded to PG, but if that movie was made today no doubt this would be rated R with no escape by the editors.
