The 80's version of "The $25,000 Pyramid" wasn't syndicated - it was aired on CBS - you must be thinking of the 1974-79 Bill Cullen version, as it was indeed syndicated.

@DENo1MatchGameFan The practice of GSN cutting the end of the episode fee plugs altogether started in late September/early October 1998 for some shows including Child's Play, Joker's Wild and Tic Tac Dough, for instance. When they started cutting the closing credits in April 2005, they still showed the fee plugs in its entirety and with the 30 seconds, we see like 4 or 5 of them, depending on how fast the announcer read through the products.

@McBearPEI USA DID show the ticket plugs every once in a while though - they just hid the telephone number with a bar saying that the number was no longer active. Also unlike GSN, USA played the departing contestant tags, and used voice overs!

@Ivoryman1986 Yeah, they play two or three of them, but they are scrunched up in a little bitty box so you can barely see them, and no audio of the plugs is given (unless some idiot at the network forgot to mute it!) GSN quit airing them without interruptions in the summer of 2002, and cut out the credits soon after during the 2004 switchover.

Continued from last post, it wasn't until June of '05 when they shortened the credit crunch to only 30 second samples(for those that had end of the episode fee plugs) and in some cases, we got to see some of the closing credits after the fee plugs were over, now the itty-bitty box you were talking about became the rectangular HD box in a somewhat bigger size was introduced later on and originally after the Game Show Network to GSN fiasco, they play like 3-4 long promos and not even cutting.
