That '55 was only 27 years old at the time of filming. In comparison, the 1982 Celebrity is 39 years old as of 2021.

That is really awesome I'm so glad that they actually did have a film of this stuff back then to show us now . I would love to see a 87 Eurosport how it was built cuz that's what I own

I have always called the Celebrity, along with its Buick Century, Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, & Pontiac 6000 stablemates, GM's "Redemption Cars" as I feel that when they were first introduced in January of 1982, they fixed everything that was wrong with the X-cars which had been introduced in April of 1979. No, they were NOT perfect cars, but in terms of build quality & durability, they were orders of magnitude better than the X-cars.

I've had 2 Celebritys...one an '85 four door and an '88 coupe. Miss them both and actually regret trading the coupe for that pos '96 Blazer.

These were decent 👌 cars back in the day, they were definitely a major improvement over the X bodies. I think at that time GM was slowly switching to FWD mid to fullsize cars

This car is 42 years old as i watch. A 42yo car in 1882 was a 1940 car. The 82 Chevy with efi was a space ship compared to a 1940 car. With an overdrive transmission and modem radio this car is perfectly fine daily driver today. A 1940 car wasn't a good dd in 1980s. The v6 overdrive Taurus and V6 Lumina of 90s were reliable, good on fuel and comfortable. Can't think of a comfy vehicle in production today that gets 25-30mpg or a price that any working stiff can afford....

I never was able to find any information on the 1986 Celebrity my dad had. It had a roadster badge and a vinyl top. 2.8 carburetor v6. Anyone ever heard of this?
