11:10................White Chevy Impala wagons like this 1981 model will forever hold a very special place in my heart..............AND my ears!!!!! When I was little, I would ride to & from the E.Ethel Little School in North Reading, MA in 1977-82 Impala wagons exactly like this one........AND beg my drivers to fasten the seat belts before they started the engines so I would not have to hear that God-awful GM buzzer. 18:03......................I just LOVE the look of that dash!!!!! True story: When I was little (I'm 42), my father brought home an '81 Malibu Classic as a company car, & I remember how fascinated I was by the vertical row of warning lights illuminating one by one when he started the engine.

Both GM and the Fords were pretty reliable back in the day , umm GM back than had a better reputation in the early 80s out of the domestics . CHEERS ..

Had a 1978 wagon wife at the time smash into two parked cars slided them sideways and keep right on going ! This happened in a busy parking lot! Thought I was going to jail for sure, good times! What a tank!

The problem is these cars lasted and were cheap to work on and decent on gas. GM quit making them they were too goad build quality. GM said No to quality and now builds complete junk. Give me back the caprice Oldsmobile 88 and 98 and Buick park ave/Electra?Lesabre and Poniaic Catalina/Bonneville. A normal person can work on these.

I totally agree Buddy ! The B-body GM cars were definitely were pretty reliable , comfortable and reliable cars back in the day and police departments and taxis companies loved them . CHEERS ..

To me these cars just look cheap. fragile, and tacky. I did have an 81 Olds 98, and when I see pictures of it now, it too looks like it was made of metal no thicker than a beer can. The cars smaller than these little things looked even worse, and even tackier
