I remember all of it as a bowl haircut kid. I remember the guy at China making a caramel swan and then giving it to me.. God bless em. I remember all of the 2nd floor figment area with the pin tables and being in those fun little movies they'd do. I remember the buses. I remember my dad always saying, "The fall of Rome" once we smelt bacon in the "golf ball". I remember the lagoon dragon boats. I remember burgers at The Odyssey. I remember Dreamfinder and Figment messing with my hair. I remember talking to SMRT-1. I remember the rollercoaster builder beaver. I remember ALL of Communicore, East and West. And I remember never wanting to be at E.P.C.O.T. Center, because we were already so close to Magic Kingdom lol. When Wonders of Life came around, the first thing I wanted to do was ride the treadmills there that had mildly interactive Magic Kingdom footage in the bikes lol. But above all this amazement, I remember my dad, who gave me such happy cherished memeories. He loved "The Tiki Birds".

I initially couldn’t understand what bank building the narrator was comparing Spaceship Earth to. I used the closed captioning option which transcribed it as Three-Port State Bank, which was obviously wrong. I then deduced that he was probably saying “Freeport State Bank.” I searched on Googled and found that there is a building formerly known as the Freeport State Bank Building in Freeport, IL. Freeport State Bank eventually became U.S. Bank and the building became the U.S. Bank Building before assuming its current name, The Stewart Centre. The Stewart Centre in Freeport is 12 stories tall and is located at 50 West Douglas Street, Freeport, IL. I wonder if the narrator was a professor at Highland Community College in Freeport since he compared the height of Spaceship Earth to the Freeport State Bank Building. That seems like such an odd and obscure comparison unless he was intending to show this film to an audience local to Freeport.

Thank you. It brings back a lot of great memories. My parents, sister and I (all adults at the time) went to WDW for the first time in early June of "84 and returned one year later. We stayed at the Club Lake Villas. We loved everything, except the heat which stopped us dead in our tracks leaving the airport interior to step into a cab. While EPCOT Center was easily our favorite, at the Villas we would take the golf cart to the WDW Village Marketplace which became an attraction ride in itself.

The color restoration is great! BUT the jello-like "stabilization" drives me crazy. I wonder if it's part of the original film conversion or was introduced in the restoration?
@codybanks99444 жыл бұрын
I may be wrong, but 8mm and 16mm had the "holes" on the side of the film (16mm had them on both sides if it had sound, but 8mm only had holes on one side even if it did have sound.) that are what kept it aligned as it got fed through the projector. (I only had 8mm camera and projector.) Over time with age and sometimes from a lot of use the holes would become worn and the film would be a bit "loose" and cause the picture to either jump or be wavy like this when it was run. I have a few older 8mm films that got ruined by family members that tried to play them on their Super 8 projectors. Ugh and Grrrr....LOL :~) kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3PSYXh6nc-LZ5Y This is a 16mm Sound film restoration that RetroWDW did and it is not wavy/watery like this one was, but the color is not as rich as this one is.

You know it is hard to believe epcot has been open for 40 years.I did not care for the park back then, But as time went on over the years Epcot made some epic changes. The rides became much better. The Food and entertainment got better as the years went on aswell. From the 80s. 90s. 2000S. Had many decades of massive improvements. Today i would not even bother, The limited guest in the park per day. You have to schudule your day with your ticket, Wait times even longer die to the new fast pass system which you have to pay for, The smoking restrictions on all the parks. Now you have to pay for parking, Hotel Guest have 0 smokinmg rooms. No smoking Areas. Increased prices to get the Middle Class and poor out of there parks. Throwing Customers out with no investigations. No more shuttle the air port to Disney Hotel Rooms. If i missed anything let me know. Just leave a reply

Smart Phone. :~) P.S. I was there in December of 1982....EPCOT was GREAT in the 1980's and just OK into the Mid 1990's. It' been BUTCHERED every year since 1994 in "my" opinion. I'm a Florida Native and my 1st time going to Walt Disney World was in 1973 and we stayed at the Polynesian Resort for 3 days. I went several times every single year and then when Annual Passes came out, I got mine every year up until 2009. Haven't been since January of 2010. No longer the same "Disney" parks that "I" use to enjoy.
