The best car ford ever made as well as the cortina

I can't really add anymore praise about this car than you have already Joseph. It really is a stunning looking car and Mr Coleman is very lucky to own it.
@lloydvehicleconsulting4 жыл бұрын
Yes, sir! It's a phenomenal car, they were once common street furniture, even when I was growing up, but to see one now is extremely rare. Mr Coleman has made this one of the best in the country without a doubt.

I remember these seemed huge when I was a child so, like so many things (Creme eggs, slides, toyshops) I expected it to seem smaller when viewed through adult eyes. The MK2 Granada appears to be the exception that proves the rule as even now it is still a sizeable beast. Shame Ford no longer compete in this sector as it is a masterpiece.
@lloydvehicleconsulting4 жыл бұрын
It's pretty big, and you actually do need to be aware of parking space sizes when driving one, just like so many modern cars. Lots and lots of interior space, very high quality for the era, tough and mostly very simple to work on. Certainly one of the Ford of Europe greats.

Brown is a very peculiar colour in cars nowadays. There are a few brown Peugeots knocking around, so well done Peugeot. You seem to have a soft spot for this car!👍
@lloydvehicleconsulting4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, the brown interior works really well in this one, as it is so typical of the era, but even brown exterior paint is very rare now. I have a very soft spot for this one as it was my first ever classic review!

Watching from the U.S. where specially ordered cars weren't all that unusual into the 70s, along with an extensive range of available options, I am surprised that these cars were available with a green interior. I think that silver with green interior would have been unusual even in the states. For that matter, silver with brown would have been a bit unusual. More common would be silver with black or blue. One of my current cars is an 06 Mustang with a development of the 2.8 Injection...the 4 liter OHC version, and I " agree ", this does not seem to be an economical engine. My 09 Crown Victoria with a V8 engine is slightly more efficient than this V6.
@lloydvehicleconsulting4 жыл бұрын
Thank you ever so much indeed for watching! There is also a full review of this car as part of the Tweed Jacket Reviews series on my channel if you are interested. Yes, lots and lots of options on a Mark II Granada, and this had virtually all of them. The green interior is INCREDIBLY rare, I have only ever seen a picture of one. I don't think many people took Ford up on the offer. Didn't realise that the Cologne engine was available so late in America, the last car which had it in this country was the Scorpio which went out of production in 1998. Great to have viewers from the USA!

It's mainly practical as the tyres for the original wheels are almost impossible to obtain these days.

@@lloydvehicleconsulting *I don't think you understand that you could get the proper MK2 Granada alloys with a 185 r 14c* *These are not TRX tyres*
@lloydvehicleconsulting4 жыл бұрын
No, I do understand. I have just asked the owner, who has had the car in his family since new. It was optionally fitted with the TRX wheels, and a lot of other extras. He could fit Ghia wheels, but he prefers not to do so. The tyres for the TRX wheels are virtually impossible to find now, and when they do turn up, they are prohibitively expensive. If you don't like the car, then feel free to go and watch another channel.

Just a casual inquiry, you know, old chap. But say a fellow was not exactly possessed of scintillating experience in the area of motor purchasing, might acting as a negotiator in the acquisition of a model, be the sort of service you provided? Because achieving a fair price would be the goal, for example. If so, should you have the time, might a pointer to a contact-form or webpage be provided somewhere... with bots and such posting one’s email can be a bore.
@lloydvehicleconsulting4 жыл бұрын
Good afternoon, sir! Thank you for your enquiry. If you were to look at the bottom half of the video description, then you would find a link to my website there. A link to the contact form is on the front page. We can take it from there if you should wish.

Lloyd Vehicle Consulting Very kind of you, sir! I stress that it wouldn’t be any time soon, given my understanding only too well that those of us who are essentially self-employed are remarkably under the cosh these days; thought it well to make that clear. Nevertheless, having enjoyed your very knowledgable content it seemed a good question to pose given what I have in mind for the future: I will avail myself of the provided info.

My Dad had 3 Passat estates in the early/mid 80's always wished we'd had one of these! There was a brown one one in our village with red sport graphics on (people playing different sports) was this a 1980 Olympic special edition?
@lloydvehicleconsulting4 жыл бұрын
Yes, there was the late pre-facelift Chasseur special edition in brown with those graphics (based on the 2.8 GL) which celebrated the 1980 Olympic Games. Very rare now... These were a bit bigger and more luxurious than a Passat, probably more akin to an Audi 100 of the time. Glad you enjoyed it!
