This bike looks great. Doesn't cost anything to put a drip pan under the bike. If you spend the time and money to replace the gasket it will eventually start leaking again. The previous owner removed the enclosed chain case on mine and unfortunately installed some sort of automatic chain oiler on mine so I have to put a drip pan under the front sprocket when I park it in the garage.

I had a 1973 FLH. I wouldn't be sure you have a gasket leak. Mine had factory automatic oiler for both the primary and the final chain drive. The primary case is vented at the top rear. Oil will sling up there and get the swing arm damp with oil. I went to a primary belt so I plugged off both the oiler lines coming out of the oil pump. With the invention of o-ring chains the automatic oiler on the final drive is over kill.
@millertime29767 жыл бұрын
Mine has a BDL dry primary so the drain plug is out and the Derby cover is spaced out for air flow. I started putting a plastic lid off a rattle can under the drain plug. I think only 2-3 drops come out of it, but you know how oil is, you could paint your house with a tablespoon's worth.

Its pefecto , i can watch this video over and over again...where can i get windshield like this?
@millertime29763 жыл бұрын
I believe but I’m not certain that the windshield on the bike was home made. But it was made for another more functional windshield to bolt to it. A Madstad. If you look close from the front or the back you may be able to see the 4 machine screws through the windshield that’s on there.

I know this is an older video, but I'd like to know how it was lowered?
@millertime2976 Жыл бұрын
I actually sold this bike about 6 months ago. But I believe it was lowered in the rear just by the shocks. The front actually wasn’t lowered, the fairing had just been modified and was mounted lower on the down tubes. It looks like when they lowered the fairing that they did it a tad to low because there’s was a crescent moon shape cut off the bottom so it would clear the front fender. The front fender was also modified and sat damn near on top of the tire. It had a slightly modified rake too but it rode very close to stock. The cat who did it knew what he was doing.

The Tour Glide like a Road Glide has the front fairing mounted to the frame as opposed to an Electra Glide or an Ultra where it’s mounted to the front forks. That’s kinda the claim to fame for the Road Glide. That said some people love them and some hate them.
