Bought mine new in 1980. Handed it down to my son 3 weeks ago. It is at 120% gorgeous and the best it has ever been.

I've watched alot of your bike videos and this is the only ride demotalk I've seen you do. I got too say, I like it. Maybe not all the time but, every few would be great.

28k miles and has been rebuilt already. That’s how all my Shovels were. I’d put 20k hard miles on it in the spring summer and fall, and I’d have to spend all winter rebuilding it. I was glad when Evos came along.

Man, excellent video. Popped the front belt on my 82 FXB and watching this helps with the down time while I'm waiting for my BDL replacement. 40 years on the original Harley belt wasn't too shabby. Post updates when you sell the bike, curious to see what it brings and where it goes. I'll never sell mine. It really is amazing how they smooth out at 80 mph and above.

Mikuni HSR 42 Screamin Eagle (non CV) carb with an An Andrews Screamin Eagle cam. Stock 80” (actual displacement-82”) with a Dyna 2000s Programmable ignition is a strong setup in that setup as long as you have a good set of fly cut pistons in the 10:1 to 10.75:1 range, and you’ll have a Hell Raising Beast.

Got both an 81 and a 82 FXB Sturgis, both very close to stock... am always surprised how nice they handle. I dont know what they go for, but youll need to offer me 6 figures to get each of them. Or wait 30 years till im in the ground.

Back in the mid to late 80's, My friends dad, that rode a 45' knuckle shop suicide shift and a naked lady on the gas tank, stored a shovelhead sturgis in his shed for a buddy. It was there about 3 years, something about the guys wife, she lost interest or something. Anyway, me and my friend use to find excuses to get the shed keys so we could go climb all over that bike. Good times.

Hi Ken, I have been watching your channel for a while now and love your videos and reviews on the bikes. I am from the UK and have just bought a 1982 Sturgis, all original bar the pipes. What is your view on the primary? I noticed there is a vented derby cover on the primary on the Sturgis you rode. I know the belts were known to overheat. Would you recommend using a vented cover all the time? Ride safe!

As i recall the 82 sturgis only came in two colors. Black and silver which I have never witnessed, and black and brown with gold pinstripe. But solid black was only 80 and 81.
