Very professional and interesting. I am working on a new project: a 1982 Honda CB650 with Keihin CV carburators. After watching your videos I was able to disassemble the carburators and found several problems mainly with the gaskets. Could you please let me know where you got the carburator rebuild kit and where you get parts for a vintage honda. Thanks

Hi, thanks for commenting. Carb kit is from KMCarburetor.com. For other vintage Honda parts I go to places like CMSNL.com, David Sliver Spares, Baboon Parts or EBay Usually if you join the forums for the bike you are restoring, there are some very helpful people that can direct you to suppliers of parts that may be unique to your bike. Just a general KZbin Creator Tip: make sure you put the name and type of the carb you are working on in the Title, Description, Tags, etc. Because these Keihin VB series (VB44) are found on many makes and models (or custom bikes). It will help the random guy on Google or here find your videos (that are quite helpful to many). Put the terms in the Tags of your video as well. Put all words relating to what you are doing in the video or restoration in the tags, description, etc. (Trying to help...) Your videos are good, and should have many more views, so you can make money off of your efforts with KZbin Monetization. Watch out putting "music" in your videos, as well. Sometimes that one thing can keep a video from being monetized.

These Keihin VB series carbs are very finicky little kittens. The least little thing amiss will make the run poorly (or not at all.) Been there, done that. :/ These are also found on the 1981 Honda CB650 in similar form. Very rare.

Hi, can you tell me the symptoms of a bad accelerator pump? I have a CB900F that won't pull above 5k rpm but only when the bike is being ridden, no issues when in neutral. Not 100% sure its a carb issue but do think i could be running rich? Thanks

It may hesitate or bog on acceleration. If you look down the carb intake side, you will see a brass tube in each carb throat, If you twist the throttle rapidly, you should see those squirting fuel forward towards the engine . It may be worth checking that you have good fuel flow from the pet valve and and maybe clean the carbs. Is the bike new to you? Or has it just started to misbehave ? Do the basics first, one at a time - carb clean, compression test and valve clearance check.

@@true-moto-resto i definitely have the bogging on acceleration, but it does seem RPM dependent rather than all across the Rev range. Bike is new to me yes, have checked fuel flow from tank. Carbs next on the list. Thanks

I am having the same issue on my 82 cb900f... so basically I have to keep pumping the accelerator pump to fill the tubes>

Yes, as long as all the tubes are clear and unclogged, and the accelerator pump itself is functional . One it primes it will squirt everytime you twist the throttle
