The keys scratching on the tank on such a perfect bike made me almost cry.

I know this is 3 year old video, never the less very nicely done!!! I found a 1981 model in 90% mechanical / 40% cosmetic shape I hope to purchase before the end of the week as a wintertime restoration project. Your vid has just shown me the how-to details and a close up of what a GOOD one is supposed to look like. :-D THANKS!

I bought one identical to this one today, even the same color and it has a factory stereo. And yes, the fairing provides spectacular wind protection. Mine is in the same shape as this one and it was $1200.00.

Wonderful motorbike. Had one for eight years. Now I have a GL650I, definitely taller gearing and better on the freeway.

I am in the U.K and I made the mistake of buying the CX 500 and adding Top box and Panniers. A lot f people did to get the fist Mid size bike with Shaft Drive. I found that to be top heavy. I wish I had waited and got one of these with the bigger fairing and better storage, A few years ago I considered the 650 but actually ended up buying a XL 250 which was a Trials/road bike and fun to ride.

I bought one of the first CX500;s in the UK.I put a tail trunk on it and soft saddlebags. It did not feel top heavy at all.

I have a 1981 honda silverwing currently and I was wondering if anyone could help me find a back rest for the driver seat like the one in the video at the 1:00 to the 1:05 mark of the video. Please and thank you!

Two things you need to carry. One a small call of gas. Because they don’t have a fuel gage. And the the gas value reserve is never moved back after use. And the air filters get clogged fast. Like if they are too small. So if you can’t accelerate the engine in higher rpm then it’s time to change the filter.

Nice, but next time you make a video it would be nice if you would project your voice a little more so it is possible to understand what all you are saying!
