How I wish the FA Cup final was STILL like this today.Both ITV and BBC on a Saturday with the replay on a Thursday(1981,1982 and 1983).Even those evening replays had something special about them.Look how good the 81 replay between Spurs and Man City was.And the players coming out of the East stand tunnel, almost gladiatorial, unlike those doors they come out of.There’s just no sense of occasion about it today.I just hope the first Manchester final produces a classic in June(see even that’s wrong.Cup finals were always in May).Both the Merseyside finals of 1986 and 1989 produced goals, and the 89 final was a good one.This is great footage by the way.So much of this stuff surfacing after all these years.Keep them coming!😉
