The goalscorer here, Andy Rogers, also made the news a couple of years later, after having having to be saved by the Reading physio after swallowing his tongue after landing badly on a frosty pitch at Swansea. Later in the season I overheard a fan at Reading telling his young son about him as he warmed up, pre-match. "That's Andy Rogers" he said "He scored from a corner and swallowed his tongue".
