I have my engine rebuild at this exact place. Happy to learn that right now is a good time to install the engine into the frame. Thank you

I think your videos are great. Keep them coming. I am rebuilding my R100RT.

maroonga555, I wish you success on your project. It's nice to know another airhead is going to stay on the road :-) On my web site, you will find a lot of detailed information about how I did the four airhead rebuilds I completed: --> brook.reams.me/bmw-motorcycle-rebuilds/ I hope that information is helpful to you on your project.

Once again, such great detail in your videos and care that goes into building your bike. Thank you for taking the time to let us see how it all works! BTW, Your 77 RS looks great in what looks like a very nice shop.

Mike, Yes, the shop is a nice place to go "play", particularly on cold snowy days. The '77 RS, aka, Gonzo, has been fun to ride. I have plans to ride Gonzo to the East coast and back in the early summer.

Thank you for good video. One of my greatest disappointments when I finally got a new BMW, was the PAINT! I have rebuilt that bike twice, since I bought it in 84. I have 3 additional Feelers, 2 are restored...the R51/2. (With matching Stieb LS500) awaits.

Hi Dean, The R51/2 with Stieb sounds like a treat. Best of success getting it restored and back on the road where it belongs. :-)

Thanks,im amazed that there are only those 2 bolts and no upper mounting

Would it be easier to put a drift pin in the opposite side when doing the front? Might free up a hand to line everything up.

Is it easy to get the center stand before the engine into the frame? I am looking from the R100CS orientation. Thanks.

Well done Brooks - but you cut the video before torquing the front mount.... ☹️

Peter, as my high school Calculus teacher would say, "The proof here is left to the student". Or, said differently, "Wash, Rinse, Repeat" for the front nuts. :-)

OK - but until riding season starts, I’m just starved for bike stuff. Hehehehe

A dry steel engine mount in a dry aluminium engine. That won't corrode much?
@BrooksAirheadGarage4 жыл бұрын
Hi Vape Lizard, I can't say I've ever seen corrosion there on my bikes, from 1973 on. The frame is painted so no galvanic cell exists.

@@BrooksAirheadGarage That's all good then. We have to here because of the weather and the salt on the roads in the winter.
