I appreciate seeing you fiddle with installing brakepads exactly like everyone else. :)

ChristianRB, Indeed, I'm not some superhuman, long time airhead guru, just an amature hobbyist like most who subscribe to my channel. 🙂

I see you powder coated your rear brake lever. Looks good. I think I’ll do mine too.

Actually I rattle can sprayed it with brake caliper paint.

Surprised how few expletives used when installing shoes. Very commendable. I can’t remember fitting a pivot snap ring on my R100CS. Must check sometime. I’ve got a rubber damper, not fitted yet but no squealing from brakes so far. I polished the brake lever on my bikes which looks good.

Lesley, indeed, I don't think I said an expletives, nor thought them. It was a bit challenging a couple times. But I have learned that getting frustrated ruins the work, so when I feel that way, I walk away and get some coffee and relax. Things always go smoother after that 🙂

I am stuck at what you call the « fiddly bit » where the upper part of the rod connects. Can’t even remove it.

i heard the springs are different lengths. At least on /5 fronts.

Lars, the /5 springs are different lengths. But, this is not the case with the R80ST rear springs. You can read about installing the /5 front and rear brakes here: --> Front Brakes: brook.reams.me/bmw-motorcycle-rebuilds/1973-bmw-r755-rebuild-project/34-bmw-r755-install-front-brakes/ --> Rear Brakes: brook.reams.me/bmw-motorcycle-rebuilds/1973-bmw-r755-rebuild-project/34-bmw-r755-install-rear-brakes/
