Clutch bowling at its best in the 2nd and 3rd games. Am I the only person who has noticed that Genalo almost never blinks? Watch him every telecast he is on. There was nothing like Chris and Nelson on bowling and then going right to WWOS with the legend Jim McKay. Thanks for posting this tournament.

as a dutch bowler for 18 years, i really love watching this. it's incredible to compare this with bowling these days. if you look at the ball return, just 1 ball each. now all the bowlers have a minimum of 5,6 or 7 balls. the pro's even more! just amazing to watch all the coverage over the years

Bo's Rolaids tip....Very similar demonstration to the tip in the 1991 Quaker State Open. You can also have balls to control the lane conditions, that was demonstrated the following week in the Florida Open.

In the 1983 King Louie Open tip, Bo suggested that a player should loft the ball about 36 inches over the foul line on dry conditions. During the 1991 Quaker State Open tip, Bo did a demonstration shot where he clearly lofted the ball more than 36 inches. The camera didn’t show just how far he lofted it, but it was definitely further than 36 inches.

Who knows, maybe the stupid idea to omit frames from the telecast is what sparked the PBA's dive in popularity in the 80s-90s.

Yeah, competing during commercials. Imagine if that happened during other sports. ("Welcome back to Monday Night Football. While we were away, the Broncos recovered a fumble and scored a touchdown, but you missed it. Too bad.")

@@tirmyta yeah that was always a goofy irritant. But within that restraint, they did pretty good. I dont think they ever missed something dramatic....at least that i remember.

Whatever happened to professional bowling? $18,000.00 first prize in 1983? What is first prize now in a non major; $10,000.00 - $15,000.00?

At about 9:25 Bo says the left lane hooks more than the right. Two seconds later says the right hooks more than the left. He was horrible. Chris carried him for years.
