Hardwick was shaping it. This gave him some margin Dick and Joe did not have.

When you thinkk of this guy Chris Schenkel, he was the Pat Summerall of the PBA tour

If I could be there to suggest to Mike Durbin that to trust the ball to roll to the pocket. Nearly every 1st ball, the arm swing is pulling the shot at last moment. Refrain from aiming the ball into pocket. The next 2 games he did loosen up a bit.

WOW! The wonderful emotional suuport system that Dick Weber had and desrvedly so. JUANITA was JUST ABSOLUTELY BEAMING with her pride for Dick. John, Rich & Paula hoping that Dick wins again after a great winning career. Pete even wore a suit out of total respect for his extremely loving father. And too Dicks doubles partner, Ray Bluth was in the audience. I was so happy to watch this telecast that I almost cried! Dick Weber is one of the most likeable human beings ever. Truly a role model for bowlers on the Professional Bowlers Tour. Most bowlers don't know that Pappas and Dick Weber like & respect each other so much because they ridicule each other with all of the "razzing" but it's just good natured ribbing. Great to see David Ozio in love again after losing his first wife! He practiced meticulously and just works on executing shots to go with his strong mental game. Thank you to Bo Burton for announcing so accurately and with both candid & sincerity. Burton has always been a huge asset to the tour and to ABC.

The 7-8 pins is not a split! The ball must be able to go between two or more pins without the head pin to be a split. If the head pin is on the lane with the same set up it's a washout.

I just had to watch Mark Roth win again! An outstanding professional bowler with gritty determination, class, and both power & accuracy. AND, as fine of a human being that anyone will ever meet. A very inwardly emotional winner. Mark had to win 31 or 32 titles just to get to a million in career earnings. He just kept working away against the greatest bowlers in the world. I MISS MARK ROTH WINNING.

As good as Chris Schenkel was as a compliment in tandem with Bo Burton, I really believe that Dave Dials is better. Just my opinion. Bill Spigner was a jack of all trades and seemingly a master of none. I'm implying that he could bowl well on many different lane conditions but wasn't a king on one as I wished that he was because he is so likeable. And, he always write a great instructional column in Bowlers Journal magazine. I understand that he and his wife, Barbara Urbanek Spigner still write very good columns yet I'm not sure where. Wayne Webb is just excellent. He always has been so calm, cool & calculating. 20 NATIONAL STANDARD PBA TITLES SPEAKS VOLUMES. Ebonite was wise to put him on their staff. I bet that both Webb and Earl sold a lot of balls. And he hosts PBA tournaments at Wayne Webbs Columbus Bowl that are a continuous stop on the tour even today.

A very disappointed Mark Roth but he just didn't prevail because anything can happen in a one game match. Sam Zurich is a very nice guy and a great representative of the PBA. Instructor/author of PAR BOWLING Thomas C. Kouros was of great hrlp to Sam in his career.

Magnificent Marshall could and did play 18 holes of golf before a block during the tournament. He WAS an athlete. As was Amleto Monacelli, Bo Burton and Brian Voss.

I just want to also say that both Roth and Holman have great stance routines before they place the ball into the swing. Holman takes very little time and his mindset is one of composed & focused concentration. Roth takes a bit more time but has a very similar mindset. I love the way he packs his thumb in the ball with composed & focused concentration. His ball driller from Brooklyn was Bob Simonelli and I had a Roto-Grip drilled very tight. So tight that I had to work it out a bit. Actually my Dad worked it out as he was a pro shop operator for years. My point actually should be. Mark Roth was SO good at making those instinctive foul line adjustments with more loft & speed. He just overpowered lane patterns when the oil migrated. Rest in peace Mark Roth.

Even in 1980 they were sayimg why Sliker hasnt won lol He ends up never winning a title The guy gagged so much on TV Thats why he never won. Its crazy Earl was leading tournaments When there wasnt another lefty in sight Boy the money really got better in the mid 80s

Holman and Webb made 4 shows together in 85 Frank ellenberg says Pritts is a master of hand releases he can do anything to a bowling ball. Umm Frank youre delusional. Pritts cant hook it at all And he wears that goofy glove on his arm which limits you So what are you talking about R. I. P. Dennis Jacques. Should have had more titles.

Nice words regarding Dennis Jacques, BagelzNLockz. I bowled with Dennis in a couple of leagues, as well as tournaments and PBA Regionals. I was hoping to get to visit him in Myrtle Beach, but life took us in different directions. Sadly, I found out about his health issues from his family at his funeral service.

Bo is as awesome in person as on TV. I got to against his team on league a few times on Monday Men's Trios league at Stuart Lanes in Florida mid 0's. He was bowling with his son, Trip. I believe he was still averaging around 245. Smoothest mechanics maybe ever. Just one of the greats

Due to the size of the viewing audience (and to keep bowling proprietors happy :) Bo's advice on lane courtesy was correct but I think two lanes each way is standard at the higher levels. It was in the leagues I bowled in the late 70s and 80s.
