Thanks Opinion Outpost for sponsoring!
In this episode of Restore It, James and I carry on removing parts from the W123 to get it ready for the bodywork and repaint. We finish removing the chrome trim, get the engine and gearbox out as well as the differential and output shafts.
Nearly all of the parts that need to come off are off so the bodywork episodes will start coming shortly.
I'm sure some of you are thinking I'm taking on too much at once. But don't worry, I'm in the process of finding help in the workshop. So if you are interested in working at Restore It, please email me at joinrestoreit@gmail.com, thanks!
Thanks for watching. Subscribe for more!

This model has always been a favorite of mine due to its coupe configuration. It is a clean design without unnecessary adornment. A great choice for a full restoration and possibly a few upgrades like an high quality leather custom interior and serious engine tweaking.

Been a fan for a very long time now, your attention to detail is amazing and a great many steps ahead of others. The BMW air conditioning restoration was amazing quality work. Congratulations on your new workshop. Would love you to renovate your shop to a higher standard, guess it all takes time on a budget. Check out gas monkey rehab videos on renovations to auto shops. expecting great things from you in the future. Film everything you do, it's all part of your journey. You have a very wise head on those young shoulders. Maybe check out wheeler dealers. Both very successful shows $$$. My 2 cents..

I was thinking something similar! I don't want to know what the value is, but I really want to know how it was agreed! That would be an interesting conversation. How do you even put a value on having a very old car fixed to better than factory? As long as both parties are happy, it will be worth it. And to have documentation of every piece of work? No garage I can think of would provide that sort of proof of work done!

My Drive Shafts have to be indexed. So, when they are removed, they can be re-installed in the same position, because they are balanced. I thought that step was important for all vehicle driveshafts. Is it different for Mercedes? My understanding if not installing in the same position can affect the balance and cause vibration.

I've just subscribed and this is the best MB restoration series I've ever seen, however, I feel the removal of your spoken commentary has lessened the viewer experience and it now feels rather sterile by comparison.
