Hey all! The rattling noise while off the throttle is the accelerator pedal, FYI.

Thanks! New engine with 1,000 kilometers. Old one was good, but rattled like a tweaker with spray paint.

what dose the 7 segment LED display if i might ask ?

That is the six-volt battery voltage. It's an additional way to monitor it along with the generator light. The camera framerate makes it appear to flicker.

Stupid question but how is the fuel consumption of these engines? And what is the displacement and amount of cylinders? Thanks

Maybe in the 30s, for mpg. Not that great considering the 594cc displacement. I'm not sure what my consumption is, but probably not optimized as I am running a bigger jet to compensate for additional oil used in the break-in period.

@@sullybiker6520 Mostly an improvement in the sound-making department. I can now hear my exhaust over a rattling engine. Power is the same, however. I never seemed to be deficient in power; it was just rattly. Not a true apples-to-apples comparison as I also went from the original points ignition to electronic. The electronic ignition lacks timing advance, so I have accounted for both idle and top end, which means it is set to 3.00mm before TDC rather than the 4.00mm or so that points ultimately advance to. But, I'm topping out above 100kph, so everything seems to be working well. It will probably continue to improve as the engine breaks-in and I adjust the oil ratio. I also switched from a castor oil to Lucas Semi-Synthetic which stays mixed better. Though, I definitely miss the smell!

Could you squeeze a little bit of power out of these engines or are they not made for that. I believe it comes with expansion chambers from the factory but could you port it and stuff?

Yes, plenty of people tune them with expansion chambers and such. I do not have experience with that, but they are quite robust. I think a bit more power can go a long way since it is 26hp as is. Tuned correctly, it's really not that bad in stock form. I plan on keeping mine stock, but if I were to adjust it, I may use a carburetor kit as that is the first step many take to improve the engine response.
