@@garysiegel6125 Yeah. Some "83 Eagles games were blacked out due to non-sellouts. This was one of them.

@@molzerib Yep I remember those days hoping that the local tv station would buy up tickets so that the game was blacked out. Last black out that I can recall was 90

Eagles pull off the upset for their only home victory of the 1983 season. Also their only win over the season's final 10 weeks

Yeah, the 1983 season was depressing. It quickly became abundantly clear to anyone that the championship window that Vermeil opened was now closed and the team would have to be completely rebuilt in an era in which there was no free agency.

@@jamiejohnson4524 Excellent points. Hindsight is 20/20, but w/ Vermeil leaving and many of the starters from the 1980 SB rapidly aging the Eagles should've have had a massive fire sale of older talent for draft picks. It would've been the perfect time too, since the '83 draft was the most talent laden draft in history. The Eagles could've even traded back, gotten more draft picks, and still taken Kelly or Marino. Also, taking Michael Haddix over multiple HOFers and perennial Pro Bowlers really hurt them later on.

The Eagle's struggles from 1983-1985 lead to Philly hiring the Late Buddy Ryan in 1986 from the Super Bowl Champs Bears.
@Musicvidsetc2 жыл бұрын
@@madrecka Buddy and his teams were both entertaining and frustrating, but in the end they were a failure as they won exactly ZERO playoff games. Even the much maligned RIch Kotite, who replaced Buddy, actually won a playoff game.

@@Musicvidsetc Yep the 92 Eagles beat the Saints in NOLA in the NFC Wild Card game that year before getting stomped out by the eventual SB Champions Cowboys in the Divisional Round.
