Shannon you are 100% right. The world has lost someone of great talent and (maybe the best) and a heart overflowing with love, - love for his Family, love for his Bandmates&MaryAustin, love for his partner-in-love ->Jim Hutton, and love for his fans! He was so grateful to his fans. Rare. Most musicians don't give a damn about their fans - all they care about is fame & wealth, fans be damned! I love you, Freddie forever!❤💖💜xoxoxo

Shannon Taylor, Swirlwind Shirl, and Mona Winn, we have been robbed of this beautiful angel. The universe does have a big black hole in it now. Could someone plz invent a time machine so we can go back in time and fix this heart-wrenching problem?!?!

Freddie is a beautiful specimen of a human being. That alien from the 7 Seas of Rhye came to capture him and bring him back to his planet as a perfect example of an earthling. Freddie was so handsome and so fit. We describe women as beautiful but Freddie is both beautiful and handsome at the same time. How can anyone accomplish that! I forgot this is Freddie I am talking about. Oh how I wish he was still here. The other guys are still here rocking out and if he had not gotten so sick I know he would be right with them in 2020 I feel horrible because he suffered so much. Mary even said she wish she had went before Freddie because it was so very hard for her to lose him. He was truly the love of her life. We still love you too Freddie.

Does everybody here know the story behind ‘39? If not, it’s really cool. Brian wrote it, based on his education and experience as an astrophysicist, as a futuristic space folk rock song, about future volunteer explorers leaving earth, probably in either 2039 or 2139 (though as far as we know, he could be thinking of 3039, or some even more far off date), after the earth begins to die, to find and settle a new planet, only, after volunteering, there is an accident, and in order to save the rest of the crew, one of the volunteer space crew sacrifices himself so that the rest of the crew can make it back to earth, to share the good news with humankind, that they’ve found a planet that the human race can move to. This particular volunteer-the protagonist and likely writer of this song, gets stuck in a time dilation field, which shoots him like 60+ years into the future. Everyone else in the crew, and eventually his family all basically treat him as if he has died, because to them, he has. They have to finish living their lives without him, as if he were gone, but when he appears in the future, he has to experience the same thing everyone who left him for dead experienced. He comes to realize that his loved ones are all long dead, and he basically lives his adult life, alongside his grandchildren, who are now his age. The write your letters in the sand line is about the fleeting nature of our existence, and that we should pity the protagonist of this song, who is, ostensibly, also writing this song, with the regret that he can’t send it back through time, to his now deceased loved ones, is a main theme of this song. The time dilation field he was stuck in created a one way trip to the future, and he can’t ever get back. Food for thought. I thought this was a fun/cool/extremely sad story. I guess that Brian really got into theoretical physics there.
