I love how enthusiastically Roger yells Sing Along!

At 0:33 is that a penguin I can hear? And I love it when Brian's saying "If you want to sing along with this and jump up please do" And you just hear Roger go "SING ALONG!" Classic Queen!

Love this song! Although Freddie is by far the greatest singer of all time - i think Brian sings this song much better - not that Freddie doesnt sound great here because he really does - but Brian's got a more folksy voice that fits the mood of this song. Freddie's voice is just to grand for folky type music! Oh and Roger your adorable

This is by far my FAVORITE song of Queen's, although I have loved Queen since they began. I never much paid attention to this song until (ugh- gonna show my age here) 1976 (or maybe '77) when I saw them in concert. Absolutely wonderful concert!

One of the high points on the 1975 masterpiece album "A Night at the Opera". What do you guys think about the rest of the album. I think the album's title suits it well...it's not a straightforward hard rock album, it really sounds like an opera!

@nitrodrum15 жыл бұрын
No, it was only the angle of the camera that makes it appear Freddie was hit. Also, Roger didn't miss a beat had he hit Freddie. His playing was consistant there.but you could tell by him smiling towards Brian that he was goofing on himself because he couldn't hit those high notes.

In the year of '39, assembled here the volunteers In the days when lands were few Here the ship sailed out into the blue and sunny morn The sweetest sight ever seen And the night followed day And the story tellers say That the score brave souls inside For many a lonely day sailed across the milky seas Ne'er looked back, never feared, never cried Don't you hear my call though you're many years away Don't you hear me calling you Write your letters in the sand For the day I take your hand In the land that our grandchildren knew In the year of '39 came a ship in from the blue The volunteers came home that day And they bring good news of a world so newly born Though their hearts so heavily weigh For the Earth is old and grey, little darling, we'll away But my love, this cannot be Oh, so many years have gone though I'm older but a year Your mother's eyes, from your eyes, cry to me Don't you hear my call though you're many years away? Don't you hear me calling you? Write your letters in the sand for the day I take your hand In the land that our grandchildren knew Don't you hear my call though you're many years away? Don't you hear me calling you? All your letters in the sand cannot heal me like your hand For my life Still ahead Pity me

Is that actress Sue Vanner on the back of Freds bike? Looks very much like her! She was one of Dracula's brudes in the 1977 bbc tv adaptation, which starred Louis Jourdan and Frank Finlay. Sue has also done other acting work, alongside The late-great Sir Roger Moore in one of the Bond movies.
