Amazing how many different fans there are from days gone by. This is probably when they made decent fans that didn't groan and wobble. I had something like that in my house in Plano in 1986. Now I have the cheapest fan ever built in my bedroom and it makes a lot of noise. It's probably a 2005 vintage made overseas ... the good thing is that it has lasted this long and hasn't gone up in flames. I might have to think about finding a classic and replacing it.

There’s lots of decent newer fans that at least move good air and are quiet, from a longevity standpoint they won’t beat stuff like this, but at least you’ll get 20+ years from them. Sadly nothing in the fan industry is made in the country anymore. It’s Taiwan or China now. Taiwan being the better made stuff. Depending on where you live now in the country, im sure there’s good stuff at habitat restores or even Facebook marketplace that would work better than what you have now
