For sale is a 1984 Datsun/Nissan 720 4x4 DLX Extended Cab Pick Up. This is a very rare Dealer optioned Bushmaster SUV conversion! Check out the room in the back seat! Reportedly there were only 50 built in California! This is a clean title vehicle that shows zero accidents or damage via Carfax and 156k miles. This is an amazing truck sporting its original exterior and a driveline that has been rebuilt and reconditioned. It is powered by a 2.4 liter 4cyl engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. It is a real 4 wheel drive truck with a 2wd high/ 4wd high/ 4wd low transfer case. This truck is riding on like new BFG all terrain radials. This truck had all the options available in 1984 including AC! This is such a special and unique truck bringing the first SUV to Nissan predating the Pathfinder and Toyota 4Runner. This truck runs and drives great! It is surprisingly drivable on the highway. We also just installed a set of 4 new KYB gas adjust shocks. I drive a 5/86 D21 LHD Kingcab Z24i Electro-injection made in Kyushu japan. I bought it two years ago with 65k original miles and have been into pretty much every moving part. I liked it so much I bought a 88 2-door WD21 SE-V6 to drive in the winter. If you like 80's cars and missed out on all the get rich quick schemes these are pretty decent. You pilot them.

to be more clear my D21 is JN6 with a w in the 11th position meaning that both our trucks were made in the Kyushu plant. I have a short video.

I had a 1988 Toyota 4Runner that was very similar to that truck, I kick myself for selling it, it would have been worth keeping! That Nissan truck is pretty cool.

2:43 Might have been the first Nissan SUV in the USA, but definitely wasn't Nissan's first SUV. overall The Patrol/Safari debuted in the 1950s, and was in it's third iteration by the time this Bushmaster came along. That said, it's really odd why Nissan NA never sold the Patrol in the US because it would have been a direct competitor to the 4 Runner, Land Cruiser, Montero, Trooper etc at the time.

Love this! In 1987, I actually had a 1984 Nissan Maxima in this exact same color. What fantastic car it was! “Fuel level is low”, “Lights are on”. “Door is ajar”. It would talk to you! Congrats on finding this truck!
